Arcade Fingerless Gloves: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

This is one pair of gloves I wouldn't call practical - but they're kind of cute. Though they won't keep your fingers warm in the Winter chill, the Snow Day Arcade Fingerless Gloves ($16) will keep your fingers free for texting and, presumably, video-game playing.

The gloves (hmm. . . can I call them gloves if they don't have fingers?) feature vintage video-game designs, like this Space Invaders-themed pair. They're cute, but are they cute enough to make up for cold fingers? What do you think?

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with emoticons. On one hand, I have a soft spot for geeky emoticon products like this shower curtain and these emoticon magnets. On the other, I frown on the overuse of emoticons, especially when it comes to dating.

You can probably guess how I feel about these Emoticon Throw Pillows ($12). There are five designs pictured, but you can also request your own favorite emoticon design. What do you think?

Hooray for more retro-themed goodies! I'm digging the Check Your Head Pillow Cases ($25), featuring a cute screen print of a vintage turntable on one side and a set of headphones on the other.

They're similar to the mixed tape pillowcase I found earlier this year, so now I'm excited to have another geeky set in rotation. Plus, as I mentioned before, it's easy to hide your geeky side and appear a grown-up (if you must) just by making the bed. What do you think?

Admittedly, I have a ton of USB sticks and funky flash drives hanging around my desk, but I have never seen one made out of paper. Until I found one while surfing online, that is.

But the Boardy USB Stick isn't your usual run-of-the-mill flash drive - it's made out of recycled paper and electronic parts to make an eco-friendly product you can use in any format. The only unfortunate thing about this product is its website. There's no price listed, and there's no mention of any memory capacity. Bummer.

Rocking a geeky watch is one thing, but this Time T-Shirt ($37) with a fully-functional digital clock ups the ante. The shirt uses electro-luminescence technology - a very weak electric current that passes through the shirt, causing the material to generate light and display the time. Don't worry, it doesn't radiate heat or use hazardous materials.

The shirt is powered by two AAA batteries (ha! How many times do you get to read a sentence that geeky?), and is 100 percent cotton and completely machine-washable. What do you think?

This Calculator Watch (on sale for $70!) is a replica of a retro Casio. It comes in three colors - blue, black, and white - and features a calculator, four alarms (one with snooze!), a stopwatch, and a calendar . . . not to mention it tells time.

I love its retro look - especially since there are so many geeky watches out there. What do you think, would you sport this style?

You know I've got my iPhone loaded up with a few WiFi finding apps so that I can hop online wherever and whenever, but what if I'm without my trusty smartphone? Hopefully (knock on wood), that will never happen. But if it does, then this little gadget could come in quite handy in a pinch.

Called the WiFi Seeker and Light, this keyring attachment is always there when you need to find a signal. With a push of one button, it shines a small LED light so you can find your way in the dark, and the other tells you the strength of any surrounding wireless signals. I tested it, and it does actually know when there's a wireless signal. Now if it would just tell you the security password so you can actually use them, I'd call it a miracle! I couldn't find the exact one online if you wanted to get one for yourself, but there are a few choices on Amazon.

Although these little guys don't provide any sort of service, assistance, or overall use, they are pretty cute. The Tengu Lip-Syncing Toy ($40) sits on your desk and entertains you while you work by lip-syncing to the sounds around you. Even if you aren't blasting your iTunes, he'll still mime the sounds of your co-workers laughing, or the TV that's playing in the background of your home office - check out a demo on Tengu's website. Practical? No. Cute? Absolutely.

Polaris Personal Assistant: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

If I could afford one, I'd probably jump at the chance to have a personal assistant to keep me on track. As much as I love organization, I sometimes don't have time to follow my own advice. Go figure. So when I saw this totally futuristic robot personal assistant on Tokyo Mango, I couldn't help but share with all the other unorganized geeks out there.

Called Polaris, this robot monitors your behavior, calendar, and contacts by syncing up with your cell phone, then gives you reminders and recommendations based on your call list and appointments. Hot. Plus, this thing can navigate flat surfaces. Does that mean it will follow me around and take my coffee order too? If so, I'm all in.

QlockTwo Clock: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Forget old, traditional clocks with those lame arms - the QlockTwo (around $1,200) timepiece is breaking all the rules over here. Set in a wooden box with a custom color glass face, this clock uses little lightup words to tell you the time in five-minute increments. Not only does it give you an update every five, but for all you traditionalists who need a more accurate quote, you can check the little (more familiar) clock in the bottom corner.

Need the time my friend? Well, it is five to 11. Says so right there. But you're on your own for the a.m. and p.m. specification.
