AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack Is on Its Way!

You'd never guess it, but I love a good head-banging song; you know, something like "Back in Black" by AC/DC would definitely do the trick. Well this November, I'll really get to rock out since the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack video game will be hitting store shelves. The game is playable with any compatible music instrument controller, and players who have Rock Band can import their tracks into this game. The AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will be available on November 2 at Wal-Mart and Sam's Clubs stores in the US for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and PS2 ($30). And on November 16, you'll be able to pick up a copy for the Wii ($40).

Aly and AJ Design Guitar Hero and Rock Band Guitars

I'm not overly familiar with this female duo, but popular to to the tween generations, teen pop band Aly and AJ, will be coming out with their own guitars for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band for the Wii and PS2 in a few weeks. Each guitar will cost a cool $70, and fans will be able to choose from Aly's Guitar, which will feature a heart and cross bone print in a pink and brown color, or AJ's pink Guitar that features a purple zebra print and is in the shape of a heart. Performance Designed Products, the makers of the guitars, will create one of the guitars specifically for tweens, ages 8 to 12 while the other will be targeted for teens and older. Wonder if they have one in my size?

I have many fond memories of rocking out hard core with my pals with Guitar Hero until dawn. Since it was the first of its kind, it will always have a place in my game loving heart. But things change, and so do my obsessions. Currently, I bust out Rock Band every chance I get. It's the ultimate party game, and I don't remember life without it. Maybe that's going a little far, but it's seriously that awesome. With soon-to-be-released Guitar Hero On Tour taking it up a notch and coming stocked with a drum kit and microphone, we're about to have a full on battle of the bands on our hands! But until then, tell me: Which is your favorite rock game to play these days?

Rock Band Can be Modified to Work With Those in Wheelchairs

How awesome is this? A company called Kinetic Communications has created a mod for Rock Band so that people in wheelchairs can play.

Previously, the wheelchair-bound couldn't rock out because the game's kickpedal couldn't be disabled, but Kinetic's hack, which was created for one of their disabled clients who wanted to play, allows you to unplug it and bypass the kickpedal function.

For under $20, all you need to buy is a few supplies, and the directions sound achingly simple. Nice work, Kinetic!

New Rock Band Store. . . (Wait For It). . .Rocks!

Over the weekend I got a chance to plug in my coveted guitar, set up the drum kit, and wail on the mic during an intense Rock Band set. My pals and me were up far too late for my age (four in the morning!), but were having a blast nonetheless. With a quick systems update, I had my first taste of the in-game Rock Band store, which I have to say, rocks!

Gone are the days when you had to leave the game to find new tracks, now you can download them directly from the game. Plus, the store gives you previews of the songs, and difficulty ratings, so you know what you are getting yourself into. With the store having launched on PS3 consoles on March 21, then subsequently the Xbox 360 players, I am pretty behind on checking out the new layout. . . but I guess I'm better late than never! Music Industry Benefits From Rock Band

Thanks to Rock Band on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, music sales have certainly been revving up. According to USA Today, virtual rockers downloaded around 2.5 million songs in the eight weeks since the game launched on the above gaming consoles.
Rock Band already includes 58 songs to play, but users can download more from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, as each song ranges in price from 99 cents to $3. The most popular songs include those from Metallica, The Police, and Black Sabbath. It's no surprise that musicians and bands are lobbying to get their songs on the game. I can honestly say I'm already addicted to songs that I continually hear from Guitar Hero III!
