Pandora Comes to the BlackBerry!

This is a nice surprise to say the least. Pandora has just rolled out a mobile app for the BlackBerry, which means BB users will now be able to uses Pandora's amazing (and free) streaming radio service.

Unfortunately, Pandora for Blackberry is currently only available on BlackBerry Bold, Curve, and Pearl devices. And users must be customers of either AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon networks. Which means if you're a T-Mobile customer, you're going to have to sit tight and see if they add it to the list. Wondering how you get started? Picking Up a Blu-Ray Player? Consider the Samsung BD-P2550

Although I already have my Blu-Ray player squared away, I'm kinda excited about this Samsung high-def model instead. What sets the Samsung BD-P2550 aside from others is its features. Not only does it have HDMI, 1080p, 7.1 analog audio outputs, along with Dolby TrueHD decoding capabilities (which translates to amazing video and audio quality), but you can also stream Netflix On Demand movies and Pandora Internet radio right from the player.

Yeah, you can stream Pandora from your Blu-Ray player. Crazy, right? So if you assumed there would be an extra-special price tag to go along with all this "flair," you would be absolutely right. The Samsung BD-P2550 clocks in at $349 from Best Buy (and goes as high as $489 from Amazon), but I'm totally adding this to my Price Protectr list just in case.

Do You Listen to Internet Radio?

I have a lot of friends who are distraught about the news that Pandora may be going under due to overwhelming royalty fees. The popular Internet radio service doesn't just stream music online, but becomes attuned to your listening habits and creates customized stations for you. I love Pandora for an alternative to my own music library, so I'd be disappointed to see it disappear however many imitators there may be.

But Pandora's not my only Internet music service that I enjoy; I have a few stations that I'm partial to when my play list doesn't cut it anymore. Never mind whether you still listen to old-school AM/FM radio anymore - do you listen to Internet radio?

I know there are a ton of you out there that are fans of Internet radio, especially Pandora. How awesome has it been to discover new artists, and listen to your all-time faves while you're at the office, surfing the web, or finishing up those term papers right from your computer. I've been a big fan of Pandora for a while now, and if it's possible, it just got better.

Now you can download your own desktop Pandora icon that lives on your Windows desktop, or your Mac's dock . . . removing that step of opening a web browser to listen to your streamed tunes. I know what you're thinking, "Big whoop, so I open another tab or window. I'm already online anyway." But the new desktop feature makes it that much easier to get down with one click, preventing you from accidentally closing your Pandora allocated window. Plus, it cuts down the amount of memory your browser uses while Pandora is running (which means faster surfing). All it takes is a quick Adobe Air download and you're off and running. Or at least shimmying in your office chair!

Pop Watch: Skins - Series Three, Episode Four "Pandora"

This week's episode of Skins focused on Pandora, after the heartbreak of possibly losing Thomas last week. In this episode she wants some fun and decides to throw a party, but for the girls only, so we're invited into her home and meet her mum (played brilliantly by Sally Phillips), but of course the boys won't stay away for too long... Here are some of my thoughts on last night's episode.

I think Skins is on a roll now, with Thomas's episode last week and Pandora's fantastic episode this week. What do you think?
We've all been there, pining after someone we can't be with. As Pandora said "you can't get a train from the Congo."
Pandora is so amusingly random, but this episode she graduated from being random light relief and we got a real insight into her life.
The comedy element of Steve confessing to Effy's mum that he needed her and her dad's initial misunderstanding that he loved him was funny and then heartbreaking. Poor Effy.

Speaking of, the adults' cameos in this show are superb. Harry Enfield is always good value in this, David Baddiel was great, and Sally Phillips was awesome as Pandora's mum this week.
Katie's footballer boyfriend is so cringe-inducing with his Frank Bruno laugh, and their public PDAs.
Emily and Naomi are slowly working on their friendship... or potential relationship. I like them a lot. Is Naomi protesting too much?
"In this house we do not allow unruly males at parties…" I love Pandora's mum, I hope this isn't the last we see of her.
Pandora's matching pyjamas for all the girls were so amusing!
Of course Cook led JJ to the all girls party so he could perv on them doing all the things he fantasised about. Freddie was absent though, reminding me that the boys' group is still pretty fractured.
Katie put MDMA in the brownies, which led to Pandora's mum being fascinated by the jelly and then rocking out to Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer". Classic tune!
Pandora got angry at Effy for spiking the brownies and had a go at her about how everything's all about her.
Least subtle / most amusing music cue? "I Kissed A Girl" when Emily kissed Naomi... As JJ looked on.
Cook managed to lock himself in a cupboard upstairs, where Effy joined him for some mindless fun following her argument with Pandora.
Katie's idiot boyfriend showed up with his football team and their girlfriends and took over the party.
Did you feel sorry for JJ freaking out in the corner of the insane party? But good old Freddie came to look after him and has a confrontation with Effy. What a tangled web of crushes.
Effy's moment of almost weakness and apology to Freddie is the most vulnerable we've seen her so far, right?
The tangled web got more tangled when Pandora turned to Cook to teach her about sex, after she taught him about Twister.
Effy saw Cook leaving the next day, and Pandora reveals how she's been feeling and how well she can read her friend. Saying Cook's not the one that Effy wants....
Of course, then Thomas came back (yay!). But just after Cook had left… oh Pandora.

Sneak Peek At JJ and Cook in Skins, Episode Four

Last Thursday's episode of Skins was your favourite so far, with the new (possibly brief) addition of Thomas proving to be a hit! The boy from the Congo was also a hit with Pandora, who's desperate to have some fun now he's gone and throws a party for the girls only, although the boys are desperate to get in. David Baddiel and Harry Enfield will also be back, as well as a new cameo appearance from Sally Phillips (Smack The Pony) who plays Pandora’s mum! Episode four of Skins airs Thursday 12th Feb at 10pm on E4, but here's a funny Grange Hill-referencing sneak peek!
