I've been excited for the launch of the Palm Pre since its announcement at this year's CES, and it looks like we may have a release date: The Boy Genius Report has heard a rumor that the Pre might be available as early as April 30. Also heard on the grapevine? It might be $299 with a two year contract with Sprint.

This year's CES has already begun pouring in the tech treats, and one I was particularly excited for was Palm's. I wasn't let down: Palm announced its newest smartphone, the Palm Pre, with soft lines and a gorgeous OS.
The new phone has a multitouch touch screen, full Internet browser, slides out to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, but the best part — and what actually sets it apart from the iPhones, the BlackBerrys, the Androids — is the wireless charger, the "Touchstone."

We're giving away seven pretty Palm Centros to lucky geeksugar readers this week! The hot selling smartphone comes in colors like glacier white, obsidian black, and electric blue and is available from AT&T for as low as $49.99 during the holidays (after a mail-in rebate and two-year service activation). Palm Centro allows you to keep in touch with friends and family with voice, text, IM, email, and web access.

Interested in getting a cell phone to match your wardrobe, like Ms. Blair Waldorf?
You're in luck if you wear a lot of blue: Palm is releasing its Centro in a new color, electric blue, which I'm totally digging (although personally, I'd call that metallic cornflower, but that's just me).

Not to be confused with the pink Palm Centro we gave away for V-Day, we're now giving away the latest and greatest addition to the Palm family — the first GSM quad-band Centro on the AT&T network — the Palm Centro Smartphone. Thanks to our friends at Palm, I get to give away one of these sleek white phones (with fun green keypad accents) to a lucky TeamSugar member.
In order to participate, you will need to take the short "Palm Centro Smartphone" quiz.

When I saw 27 Dresses this past weekend, I thought I was in for some light chick-flick action, but my geekiness was indulged when James Marsden sweetly gave Katherine Heigl's character a Palm 755p to replace her old worn-out date book. With Valentine's Day coming up, my head was swimming with geek love and the romantic possibilities of gadget gifts as I hope my boyfriend takes notice. I mean, really, is there anything more romantic than getting a device that makes your life easier?

If you were on the fence about the teeny and chic Palm Centro, here's some news that may help your decision—the Centro is now available in pink!
Aside from the fact that it's now available in a fun new color, the Centro is great because it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is extremely lightweight. Palm's Centro includes a full QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen capability and get this, it only costs $100 with a two-year contract.

The new ruby red Palm Centro is certainly one of those see it to believe it devices. When I first picked up the Centro, I couldn't get over how small it really is. Unlike other Palm Treos—which feel more like a bulky Blackberry 8700 than anything else, the Centro fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is extremely lightweight.

Longtime users of the iPhone are very familiar with the location based WHERE app which can tell you all sorts of things like where the cheapest gas station is, where the nearest Starbucks is, or help you find great restaurants on Yelp.
Well here's some good news to appease the soon-to-be Palm Pre adopters — there will be a WHERE app available for the Pre straightaway! What this means is app developers are frantically getting their famous iPhone apps ready for the Pre, so I wouldn't rule out app coolness on the Pre just yet.
