Baby's rooms are unlike any other in the house. They are supposed to be stimulating for the senses yet serene for naps. Cheery and playful during the day, but dark and motionless at night.

Having lived in a studio in the past, I've experienced first-hand the trials and tribulations of trying to make one room play two roles. I have many friends living tiny apartments who try to cram the furniture meant for both a living room and a bedroom into the same room, and let me tell you, none have succeeded. Last week, during some preparty primping, I felt like my nighttime makeup application was getting heavier and heavier with each stroke of the brush. The SUCK UK Moon Jar ($40), a luna-like light that comes equipped with a solar-powered cell and rechargeable battery that soaks up sunlight, is new at Elsewares these days. If it looks familiar, it is: it's the dimmer sister of the Sun Jar, which we've raved about before. Still packaged in that traditional mason jar, it automatically flicks on for five hours when it gets dark, or can be turned off with a switch inside.
