Sometimes you can't be in a place where you get to see fireworks on the Fourth of July — or like me, you're in a place so foggy all you'll see is some colored clouds.
So no matter where you are this Independence Day, get your dose of exploding pyrotechnics with the free Handmarks Fireworks App.
Pick one of your own photos as a background (or use one of four preprogrammed images), grab some music, and then let 'er rip.

Facebook's iPhone app is getting a makeover, a big makeover, and the developer is sharing the goods. Almost complete, the updated app is going to make it easier for users to share content they find across the web, and offer enhanced privacy settings.
Other features include notes, pages, events (with RSVP functionality), the ability to create new photo albums, easier photo tagging, message restore (when interrupted by a phone call), quick call or texting directly from friends' pages and best of all, this slick new home screen for easy access to all of the apps greatness.

With the release of the iPhone 3GS and the price drop of the 3G to $99, more people than ever are finding themselves with a new iPhone, and for some, it's their first-ever iPhone. I'm hearing from my friends who are new to the iPhone how overwhelming the App Store is when you're just jumping in now, so I'm here to help you weed out the basics. Check through my list of basic, free iPhone apps and get your download finger ready.

Add this cool photo app to your must-have list! Called Postman, this app allows you to snap a pic of something interesting —say, a cool sculpture you found in the middle of a park — then tag it with your location and send it to someone (or, if it's cool enough, everyone) on your contact list in the form of a postcard.
Not only that, but you can upload your postcard pic to a number of different of social networking sites to share with your online buddies.

I already thought Whole Foods was pretty cool, but it has just gotten a whole (get it? tee hee) lot cooler with its latest free Market Recipes iPhone app. What can this app do for you?

I'm finally less shy about pulling my iPhone out when I'm eating dinner somewhere (of course, I do it very discreetly and quickly) — a girl's got things to do, like snapping a pic of the wine to remember one you liked.
But say you don't know what wine you will like, and you're not at a fancy joint where the word "sommelier" has ever been uttered. Or maybe you don't want to ask.

This year during the WWDC keynote, I particularly got excited when navigation applications were announced — I'm not the best with directions. Well, AT&T has just released their TeleNav Navigation Application for the iPhone, which is a free app to download, but it is rumored to cost $10 for monthly service. Now, I really enjoyed the TeleNav Navigator on my BlackBerry when I took it for a test drive, and monthly service on that is about $10 as well.

Besides your passport, do you know what to take with you on an international trip? Inspired by an upcoming trip overseas, I tried to brainstorm all the things that would make my life much easier when traveling abroad. And planning ahead is key!

Although I don't listen to the radio much, I like to keep up on what the kids are listening to these days. After finding a ton of radio tuners in the App Store, I finally settled on one of these six tuners to install on my iPhone so I can rock out to the top 40 (or listen to some good talk radio) wherever I happen to be. Check out my faves in this slideshow.

Remember how we all oohed and aahed over Clueless? We thought it was so high tech, having your wardrobe on your computer. Well I'm glad to say we one-upped Cher Horowitz because now you can have all that — on your iPhone.
