Paris Fashion Week: Chanel
At Paris Fashion Week on Friday, the classic Chanel suit surfaced in many forms as interpreted by veteran designer Karl Lagerfeld, including a pink-and-black boucle baby-doll dress with a cropped blazer and an elegant beige version paired with black sequined hot pants. Fashion Week power couple Katie and Posh turned out to see the label's Spring 2007 line, which was dominated by black and white with accents of Grecian gold and metallic slate grays. Many of the styles were decidedly girly, including horizontal-stripe A-line dresses, an adorable bow-front sheath with chain accents, and ruffly bubble skirts.Celebs Keep It Summery for Valentino Couture Show
After Friday's fancy dinner, Valentino's 45th Anniversary celebration continued on with the line's Fall 2007 Couture show. The runway show was full of luxurious gowns, but the celebs in attendance opted for more casual fare. I can't say I blame them -- it looks like it was pretty seriously sunny on the outdoor red carpet!
New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Designers for Darfur
On Friday evening, many, many designers, fashionistas, and do-gooders gathered together in New York City's Roseland Ballroom in support of trying to help end the atrocities of genocide taking place in Darfur. Since it was the finale of Fall 2007 Fashion Week, the theme of the event was a grand fashion show appropriately titled, Designers for Darfur.
The hosts of the evening were Lydia Hearst Shaw (shown) and Malcolm Harris of Mal Sirrah.
NBC Fall Season Announced
We are still watching our favorite season finales but we have to switch gears to begin thinking about the networks new fall schedules. NBC announced theirs today and the big news is that both the Matthew Perry and Alec Baldwin have shows about the behind-the-scenes look at a late night program.
