Tech Cinema! 4 Geeky Movies to Look Forward To
The Summer blockbusters are blowin' up the big screen, but I'm turning my focus toward the future, and the slew of geeky movies that are in the works. Indeed, as many movies as there are that turn into video games, there are tons that are going the other way. Check out some rad upcoming movies, adapted from video games and other geeky fodder.
Coming Soon: The World of Warcraft Movie
Just yesterday I was asking you what movies you'd want to see as video games, and now comes news of an epic video game turning into a movie: World of Warcraft!
The movie will be directed by Sam Raimi, who's got plenty of geek movie cred (he did the Spider-Man movies as well as the Evil Dead series).
No news yet on who will star or when the movie will come out, but I hope that Raimi will do WoW fans justice.

World of Warcraft Climbs to Over 11 Million Users
Forget gambling addiction, the multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft has just reached 11.5 million subscribers worldwide.
The game, by Blizzard Entertainment, released its second expansion of the game called Wrath of the Lich King this past November, which sold 2.8 copies in just 24 hours. I'm not a huge WoW fan, but actress Mila Kunis claims to be obsessed with it, and we've heard that its on-going gameplay nature has a tendency to tear couples apart.

- Last week, Mila Kunis appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss her role in Max Payne. Except the conversation revolved around video games rather than movies, as she talked about her love for World of Warcraft.

Jocelyn and Peter had been married for six years when she bought him the multiplayer game and he became quickly obsessed with it.

I always wondered what the appeal was of World of Warcraft— until now. I didn't realize these gamer dudes were recreating Baywatch and getting their best beachside frolic on. It all looks fun, but this is one Hoff short of the real deal.
