I'm bummed that I didn't get to experience Taxi TV when I was in New York — the service, though described by this New York article as annoying and wearing on city's taxi-taking populace, actually sounds pretty cool to me, aside from the apparent high volume and constant ads.
If you could get into the cab and pick what you wanted to watch, rather than be imposed upon by what Taxi TV chooses, I think it'd be awesome — most short cab rides would probably be only enough time for like four really funny jokes on 30 Rock, but whatever. How do you feel about Taxi TV, New Yorkers?

MTV cribs and TV manufacturers want us to think our lives are incomplete without TVs in our showers or TVs built into our bathroom mirrors, but a group of designers hope to market an interactive bathroom screen that will prevent you from having a Lindsay Lohan moment. Aside from its vile name, the Piss Screen is pretty innovative. It's actually a game that was made to encourage people to take a taxi home with Frankfurt Taxi Services after having a few drinks, rather than get behind the wheel of their own car.

A few months ago I was lucky enough to meet up with the very lovely and funny Rainn Wilson for a Q+A session about his new movie The Rocker (out today in the UK). In the movie he stars as Robert "Fish" Fishman, a talented drummer in a hair metal band that gets kicked out by his bandmates before they go on to rock glory. He then gets a second chance at success when his nephew's rock band are looking for a new drummer, and here's what he had to say when we spoke earlier this year:
- So, Rainn, how good are you at drumming really?

Last Sunday afternoon, I went to the Chelsea market, home of the Food Network Studios in New York City, to watch a live taping of a new Guy Fieri show. The one-hour long special, Guy's Family Feast, focuses on Guy's family and will air sometime in December or January. To find out what it was like to view the taping, read more

So it all gets pretty intense in this week's installment of Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Without wanting to give too much away, there's a big revelation for one of the regular characters, and the aftershocks are devastating for another. The episode is Bambi-less which is a shame, as I've been intrigued about her character since episode three.

I came across a great article over the weekend on Tango.com, raising the issue of how good looks affect the way people treat you, and in this case, how much people give you. To test the notion, a Current TV reporter spent two days on the streets of London seeing how much she could get away with — one day dressed and made up, the other day looking plain and casual. As I'm sure most of you assume, she got way more on day one — from free taxi rides to free cake — and men didn't even flinch at her somewhat outlandish requests.

I know that I'm lucky that I don't need a car and have to pay for gas — just last night, I sailed by a station in a taxi and my jaw dropped at the $4+ gas prices! I feel horrible for those of you receiving your tax rebates and having to spend it on gas. But if you're trying to drive less or like me, not driving at all, what are you going to spend your rebate on?
