An Italian cured, smoked meat native to the Alto Adige, a region that straddles Northern Italy and Southern Austria. To make speck, a boned pork leg is cured in salt, and spices like laurel and juniper, then intermittently slow-smoked, using pine or juniper wood for several months.
Deep red in color with heavily marbled traces of fat, speck is served thinly sliced as an appetizer, or used in to flavor cooked dishes.

As much as I try to keep my MacBook protected and out of harms way, it still looks pretty banged up and has scratches everywhere. I say a scratched up gadget is likely a loved gadget, but if you're not ready to take the extreme protection plunge by getting the MacTruck laptop case and still want protection, here's another solution that might do the trick. The SeeThru Hard Cases from Speck are designed to perfectly snap onto 15-inch MacBook Pros and keep them well protected with their shatter-proof polycarbonate plastic.

When I think of mustard-colored clothing paired with a brick-red lip, I can't help but think to the days of the early 1990s, when shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Saved by the Bell ruled the airwaves. But at yesterday's Power of Women luncheon in LA, Anne Hathaway proved that the dated color combo doesn't have to be so dated after all.
