My BSG obsession has hit an all time high now that I've not only re-watched the third season, but have also seen the ten webisodes (did you know about these!?) and checked out the movie Battlestar Galactica: Razor (spoilers if you haven't seen all three seasons!). So it would be fitting that I scoop up one of these BSG Propaganda Posters ($30) just in time for the season four premiere this Friday. Thanks to Petty Officer Calamari for bringing these to my attention, I'll be prepared and my apartment will be fully dressed for the BSG party I'm planning on April 4.

World Wars I and II left us with not only a global landscape changed forever politically and historically, but two of the biggest events in the 20th century left us with a wealth of propaganda artifacts that almost tell the story better than any history book. Some of the themes championed in these beautifully designed posters of food conservation, using resources carefully, sticking with the service no matter what, and encouraging women to do their part sound like wildly familiar themes today. I mean, carpooling!

Design duo Dan Ibarra and Michael Byzewski, better known as Aesthetic Apparatus, have made a name for themselves in the niche market of rock posters but make their bucks off of imaginative identity and packaging design. Dan (the Funny One) and Michael (the Sexy One) met working at a design studio in Madison, Wisc., called Planet Propaganda. Those days marked the kickoff of their screen printing career, and they have since opened up studio in Minneapolis.

The New York Times has an article and interesting slideshow showcasing the 1830 townhouse of director Roland Emmerich (10,000 BC, Independence Day) in London. When the German-born director moved into stuffy neighborhood Knightsbridge, he asked his interior designer to create a space that was “as nonfrumpy as possible,” that reflected "his predilection for art with a political edge." Especially during a national election, these days, political humor is rampant.

Holy cow — Friday night was definitely an event to be seen! Starbuck returned with no real questions being answered about how she got to Earth (and back), and the newly revealed Cylons are obviously struggling with their new status. I'm super stoked about this season, but knowing we're counting down to the final episode ever is a real bummer.

The day has finally arrived! Taking my cue from PartySugar, I have planned a blowout Fleet Party for the BSG premiere tonight. I've made some special menu items including Cylon CupCakes, Cloud 9 Mojitos, and Caprica Shots for our BSG drinking game, which is reminiscent of the Sarah Connor Chronicles game we played a few months ago.

With the season premiere drawing nearer by the second, I thought it was time to test your knowledge on the past three seasons of Battlestar Galactica. It has been quite a while since the last episode of season three, so I hope you have your thinking caps on! If you need some help jogging your memory, check out the eight-minute recap.
