Picnik is a cool program for editing and aggregating photos online, especially if you don't have a copy of Photoshop handy. But recently, they introduced a lady-geared suite of features called Touch Up that has options like Sunless Tan, Highlights, Teeth Whitener, Blemish Fix, and my least favorite, Insta-Thin. (Because, you know, we girls always want to be thin.)
I decided to try it because I find the whole photo-editing thing dubious; I understand that this stuff's an accepted part of our culture, but I'm just saying that I don't think it's so great for our psyches to worry about "perfection."

I firmly believe the beauty industry can help women feel confident and look their best. But when it comes to nonsense like this Belgian ad for a natural cosmetics company, I want to go concealer-free out of righteous rage. The ol' before-and-after shot transforms a scruffy woman into the typical "hot" vixen.

Warning: the Lady Dior Spring '09 ad you're seeing has been done by highly trained professionals and should not be recreated! French actress Marion Cotillard appears to be standing at the edge of the Eiffel Tower to fulfill her modeling duties as the face of Christian Dior's Lady Dior handbags. Of course, the always-handy Photoshop has made it possible for this shot to be fantastical.

Just two short weeks ago, Adobe introduced their new "free" online photo-editing service Photoshop Express. Well now ladies and gents, Adobe is back with another great new product Adobe Media Player (AMP), a cross-platform media player. Available starting today, you'll be able to download this free player that will play flash-based web videos and will also display shows from Adobe's new service — Adobe TV, a network, which will offer a series of television shows online.
