Wondering what's going to be hot and not-so-hot in the upcoming year? Here are some of my gadget predictions for 2008!
OLED Televisions: Surprisingly OLED TV's weren't overly popular in 2007, even though they created quite the buzz with their super-slim design, energy saving technology, and exceptional screen quality.

Well well well. Back in early 2008, Kelly Ripa tried to get Regis Philbin to join the iPhone club, but he just wouldn't budge. And after almost two years of confessing her love for her iPhone, good ole' Regis has finally decided it's time to ask Santa for an iPhone — which he says he wants to fill with "thousands of apps."

I can understand why the thought of applying oil directly to your face might seem a little bit scary. After all, we've been told that oil-free products work best to keep your pores clear and to help keep oily skin matte. But try to strike this information from the record for a moment so that you can learn a little bit about a few non-comedogenic facial oils.

Even when it's iced, tea is hot right now. The trendy drink is available in an astounding number of varieties — from green to chai to yerba mate — and every day, it seems, I read about another health benefit of drinking tea.
It's no wonder, then, that tea has filtered into cosmetics.

At CES this week, Kodak showed off its 7.6-inch OLED digital picture frame that can store up to 10,000 photos on 2GB of internal memory. Usually I don't go ga ga over digital picture frames — I feel they are best suited for parents or grandparents — but I can't help but take notice at the plethora of functions this model has. With WiFi that can connect to RSS feeds, Flickr, and Kodak Gallery accounts, and you can access the news, weather and sports.

It's Grand Ole Opry week on American Idol, which meant time for everyone to bring out their best country voices — other than Adam Lambert, who decided sitar music was in order. Let's start with the low points. Michael Sarver kicked off the night in an utterly forgettable way, and while he's cute, it might be back to the oil rigs for him.

At CES 2007, the Gizmodo team had the chance to spot Sony's gorgeous new OLED TV (OLED meaning organic light-emitting diode). This prototype TV is ultra skinny, measures 27 inches, and projects beautiful sharp quality images. OLED technology is neat because it doesn't require any backlighting, which will save your energy and your money!

Before you start laughing, I'll admit that eMagin's SVGA 3DS OLED-XL microdisplay headsets aren't particularly sexy, but who needs glamorous gear when you've got extraordinary pieces of technology right before your eyes?! With this microdisplay you get both analog- and digital-signal process in a tiny compact display, therefore eliminating the need for an external television screen.
When I tested out the OLED microdisplay, it was connected to a Dreamaz Indicube personal media player, which allowed me to watch videos on a virtual screen size equivalent to 52 incheds by 2 meters!

Jessica Simpson continued her country music tour on Saturday night with a performance at the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. It was her first time on stage at the historic venue and Jess expressed her excitement before taking the stage, saying, "I can't believe I am here!" She had family, friends, and even the legendary singer Loretta Lynn there to lend some support on the big night, although some attendees thought that her short dress was inappropriate for the occasion.

I'm a bit of a spoiled kitten when it comes to facials, I have to admit. Years of working in the beauty and fashion industry means I've had my fair share of the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.
The worst, was a 'couple facial' in which my skincare expert actually flicked the sides of my cheek with her artificial nails, while at the same time Mr Bella kept trying to grab my hand, shouting "don't let her touch my face, I don't like having my face touched" as his masochistic therapist tutted at the state of his stubble.
