American furniture manufacturer Herman Miller is credited with the production of a wide range of mid-century designs that remain classics today, including works by George Nelson, Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, and Isamu Noguchi, among others. Unfortunately, the thing with classics is that while they don't seem to go out of style, their prices also remain stagnant, if not inflated. Lucky for you, Velocity Art and Design is throwing you a bone on its collection of Herman Miller products.

When furniture designer Herman Miller sent me one of their latest and greatest creations, the Embody Chair — which is both body and blogging friendly — I couldn't wait to see if it felt as good as it looked.
With the help of physicians and professionals in such fields like biomechanics, vision, physical therapy, and ergonomics, designers Jeff Weber and Bill Stumpf created the Embody Chair with the office worker in mind, therefore making sure it was jam-packed full of health-positive benefits.
What instantly struck me about this chair was the fact that its entire backing looks like a real spine, with vertebrates and all.

Etsy seller Spruce Home, a design studio based in Austin, TX, has upholstered this ornate, wooden-based ottoman in Amy Butler's Nigella Primrose fabric, giving it a vibrant, modern update. The Ottoman Empire ($425) stands 14 inches high with a 30-inch diameter, the perfect size to use as a round coffee table, or set with a tray or some shelter books on top. Not only do I adore the aqua and cool green fabric used, but it looks like it'd be super comfortable used as a stool, foot rest, or even a dog bed!

Don't tell anyone, but I have a secret: I'm kind of over the Herman Miller Eames Molded Rockers. In fact, I was never a rabid fan. And if I tell the absolute, total truth, I should say that I was never really even in love.

Sienna Miller headed out to shop at Ron Herman in LA with a friend yesterday despite the spreading rumors about her alleged affair with Balthazar Getty. While Balthazar himself got the hell out of California, Sienna seems to be business as usual. Sienna looked understandably upset as she entered the shop, though perhaps her love troubles aren't something that a little retail therapy can't fix — on her way out, she was laughing and smiling.

No trip to Nola is complete without at least a brief stop in the French Quarter – just thinking about the beignets and café au lait makes me drool. I definitely want to check out the classic Hotel Monteleone next time I travel there – this historic (haunted!) hotel has been pet-friendly since March 2007. In addition to decades of history and tradition, they now offer special pet treats and tips for your four-legged friends.
