Last week I shared with you my interview with Precious actress Paula Patton, but now it's time to hear from the director himself, Lee Daniels. I asked the Sundance-award winner — the film took home the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize — how it feels to hear Oscar buzz, and what it's like when Oprah is on your speed dial. Plus, he opened up to me about how the movie helped him overcome from his own dark past.

If you haven't been watching Fringe, you're missing out on a solid sci-fi thriller that will help fill a void where BSG left off. Sure, there's no space, but there are alternate universes . .

As you may have heard me say before, the iPhone can do pretty much everything under the sun except open a bottle of champagne thanks to its amazing apps — except use its 3G goodness to make calls from Skype, that is. You could use any open WiFi signal to dial up your pals for free over the Internet, but Apple drew the line at you hopping on its 3G signals to use voice over IP.

One of my favorite scenes in He's Just Not That Into You is when Gigi and Janine are at a bar, and Gigi tears up a guy's business card for not being clear about if he actually wanted to call her. It's a lightbulb moment, since previously she had been staring at her phone non-stop and checking her voicemail every five minutes. We've probably all been there at some point in our lives, but now it's even easier to find out about people on the Internet.

With California's Hands Free Law in full effect, I'm always looking for creative ways to help me stay handsfree so I can keep my eyes on the road. Even those two or three seconds you spend navigating your way to your contacts list to dial a number are a few seconds too long to spend looking down.
Well a new handy app called iDialUDrive works as a simple way to automatically dial your contacts — without using your hands!

Getting engaged to be married gives some girls an automatic tic that causes them to answer any question asking how they are with an explosive, "I'm engaged!" While your skin might be crawling with excitement that's making you burst at the seams, be sure to exercise a bit of cautious control when you're bringing your great news into the office. The majority of engagements occur on weekends when there's plenty of time for romantic celebration, so go into Monday morning with a game plan.

For those lovely ladies in your life who you lovingly call heath nuts, I've found a few gifts that will make those gals go, well, nuts. As a health nut myself, I would be psyched to find any of these items packed in pretty recycled paper for the holidays.
- MixMyGranola: Choose your health nut's favorite mix-ins to create a personalized granola mix, or buy one of the pre-mixed options.
