I'm not as obsessive about my online calendars all the time as I wish I were — I would never forget about the occasional appointment or date I made on the fly. Even though I use calendars, sometimes you just need really straightforward reminders — which is what Deadline is great for.
For instance, I have a doctor appointment on my calendar, but what I really need is an alert a half hour before I need to leave for that appointment.

David Beckham's hopes of a permanent move to Milan have been dashed, as the Friday deadline passed without both sides coming to an agreement.
Yesterday the coach and general manager of LA Galaxy said:
"Today's deadline imposed by Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber regarding a resolution of David Beckham's potential transfer to AC Milan has passed and we did not receive an acceptable offer for the player. As a result, David remains an LA Galaxy player and we look forward to having him back with the club starting 9th March."

If this is the case, you may be in need of a midweek makeover?

In general, people seem to agree that Facebook can be a big time-waster... even causing some students lower grades than their less-frequent Facebook-using friends. Now, the BBC is reporting on a Gloucestershire College claim that Facebook is actually cutting down on student dropout rates.

Recently, I taught a workshop on interviewing to 400 high-schoolers. I had to find a way to keep the information short, sweet, and simple for the 17-and-under crowd, and in doing so, I realized I was getting a pretty nice interview refresher myself.
For the workshop, I broke down the interview process into dos and don’ts for before, during, and after the interview.
