I'm obviously a big fan of Animal Crossing — having spent hours on end playing Wild World on my DS — I'm happy to say I've already put in some good time with Animal Crossing: City Folk, since its release on Sunday. It's the same game you know and love from before (which could be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it), but thankfully there are a few awesome new features on the Wii version that you won't find on any of the other consoles.
One of which is the Wii Speak adapter ($30) that lets you chat with others from around the world via your WiFi connection.

My cousin used to be completely obsessed with everything anime, but Gundam was one of his favorite shows. So I thought it totally appropriate to share these images of the 60-foot Gundam statue with you now since I'm heading to Japan this week! I'm crossing the Pacific to check out the Tokyo Game Show, as well as take in all the sights, sounds, and gadgets there are to be seen in the country that brought us ramen and Godzilla.

There's some sad news out of LA this evening: Jessica Simpson's pooch was taken by a coyote. She just tweeted about the picking of her precious Daisy right in front of her face. I cannot even imagine:
My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes.

When I first heard about doga classes (yoga with your dog), I thought it was too bizarre to catch on, but it seems that classes are cropping up all over the place. Some people feel that it's a slap in the face to this ancient tradition, while others believe doga makes perfect sense since it coincides with yogic principles that encourage living in harmony with all living beings. Classes aren't just about doing Downward Facing Dog while your dog sleeps on your mat.

Some of my favorite directors are just rollin' out the trailers today — first the Coen brothers with A Serious Man, now Wes Anderson with his forthcoming project The Fantastic Mr. Fox. This animated film is based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name and follows a family of foxes and their animal associates as they struggle against the farmers who want to dig out their neighborhood.
I'm not sure whether the first word to describe this trailer should be "bizarre" or "hilarious" — but either way, I know I want to see this movie.

If Mother's Cookies were on your list of discontinued products that you continue to miss, you can cross them off now, because beginning May 4 — just in time for Mother's Day — select Mother's Cookies will return to store shelves in the West.
In October of last year, Mother's unexpectedly closed its doors. Cookie lovers everywhere mourned the loss with farewell t-shirts and by raiding supermarkets for the last of the brand's cookies.
