I was totally stunned into disbelief when I saw this photo of GoingLikeSixty's typewriter and monitor combo. Could she have really rigged the old Royal to type on her computer screen? Well, no, but it was a cool pic (and dream) anyway!

I just stumbled upon this gem of a Newsweek article from 1995. I love browsing through vintage finds, from old magazine ads to television commercials of yore. And coming across something tech-related is even funnier, given the pace at which development and innovation comes to the industry.

Steve Jobs hasn't changed much since the '80s. It's true! I dug up an early presentation he gave back in 1983 and discovered that his keynote addresses pretty much follow the same format — blaring pop music (only back then, he had the words to "What a Feelin'" changed to include Apple), black turtlenecks, and the debut of a product ad, which in this case was the very first Macintosh.

All things old are new again as vintage gadgets and tech come back with a bang. Since you can already turn your iPhone photos into cool vintage-looking pics in more than a few ways, it's only natural that there would eventually be an iPhone 3GS app that turns your on-the-go videos into retro styled mini movies.
Called the Vintage Video Maker, this $3 app is worth its weight in fun — just capture your video within the app, or load one up that you've already shot, and choose between three old-timey styles: 20's movie, black and white, and 60's home video.

Today's site satisfies my love for all things vintage — especially vintage geek! Vintage Ad Browser features old magazine and newspaper ads across tons of categories, like computers, sports, drinks, even SPAM (the canned meat, not the email!). You can browse pages of old ads by category and decade.

You might be used to playing games on your cell phones, but do you remember these phone-inspired board games from your childhood? I'm not positive how the topic came up, but a little while ago one of my co-workers asked me, "Do you remember the game Girl Talk: Date Line where you had to call up dates on the phone?" I had a vague recollection of sitting around the game board at a childhood sleepover giggling away, but couldn't remember many other details.

Sweet! Another new vintage geek product to add to my wish list. The This Is Vinyl Tap Wallet ($8, and how great is that name?) is made from shiny polyester to resemble a classic 45.

Look! Another item to satisfy my vintage geek obsession: the Woody MP3 Speaker and Radio ($30). This retro-style battery-operated speaker for your MP3 player is shaped like a vintage wooden radio.
