It's a tough thing when you're doing a review of a distribution that you want to like but end up having to pan it. The latest version of Ubuntu Linux is called Feisty Fawn, and about all I can see it being good for is venison. We found it to be a real stinker in some ways, despite past versions of Ubuntu having been fairly good.

The good stuff aside, I had a number of problems with this release. Fiesty Fawn was supposed to make multimedia easier. Strangely enough I ran into some difficulties with multimedia, as well as with some of the other new features.

At Omnivore Books on Food, Sunday, 11/8/09
David Chang of Momofuku Restaurant in NYC and Jeremy Fox of Ubuntu in Napa will appear in conversation with each other. Peter Meehan (co-author of David's book and NY Times columnist) will moderate. Chang knows his way around a pig, while Fox is an award-winning vegetarian chef.

Yeah this kind of stuff gets popular, recently saw http://www.simkl.com at NYC tech meetup. They save chat logs from AIM, YAHOO, MSN, ICQ and even don't need any additional software to download. So they support Windows PC, MAC, Linux, Ubuntu PC, Cellphones...
