Pandora’s Box unleashed is based on a GIMP. While you do a double take on the previous statement let me explain. Pandora is a convenient online music service similar to on-demand radio designed by the Music Genome Project.

No self-respecting automaker would have dared appear without a zippy-looking plug-in prototype at the annual Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Amid all the hype about electric cars, it was a surprise to hear Daimler Chief Executive Officer Dieter Zetsche declare that hydrogen fuel cells, not batteries, are the ultimate way to move beyond oil. When the going gets tough, the tough have shown they become serious softies about their furry and feathered friends.
Despite the recession, this year Americans are expected to increase their spending on pets to $45.4 billion, up $2.2 billion from last year, according to the American Pet Products Association. Meanwhile, over the same period of time, retail spending on human luxuries, like those bought at department stores, are down double-digit percentages.

Forget the Smart Grid, We Need Smart Spending (On the Grid)
The stimulus bill has sought to weatherize homes, expand broadband's reach and fix our energy infrastructure. For this last urgent goal, some $4.5 billion of the stimulus bill is slated for projects related to a smart grid. But before we start spending, the terminology needs refining.

DETROIT – Some soccer moms will have to give up hulking SUVs. Carpenters will still haul materials around in pickup trucks, but they will cost more. Nearly everybody else will drive smaller cars, and more of them will run on electricity.

First, Obama forced out the CEO of GM (conveniently late on a Sunday, to miss prime news cycle time).
Now his designated replacement has "declined" to accept the $1 per year deal that his predecessor had offered.

President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday will announce Mary L. Schapiro to be the chairwoman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to Democrats familiar with the decision, elevating Ms. Schapiro from her current position as the head of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority.

My biggest gripe with iChat was how it had a seperate buddy list window for each screen name signed on. For me, this meant a full screen dedicated to iChat with at least three buddy list windows on it. But not any more....

Finally, a good week for Britney Spears? Just as we were getting to think that a lunar eclipse might come sooner, here’s some tentative cause for celebration.
In the space of 24 hours, the woman who yields roughly 82,000 results if you Google her name along with the phrase “troubled singer”, has been granted temporary visitation rights to her children and seen her new single Gimme More leap into the British chart's top three.
