So last night I played a DVD I had just bought on my current generation iMac(20" 250GB Serial ATA..) running on OS X 10.5.5. I put in the DVD and the player opened. Towards maybe the first few minutes of the DVD, I noticed the audio level going up and down by itself.

Basically, when you buy music from iTunes, it comes with a copyright protection called DRM. These DRM-protected songs are locked so that they only work with Apple MP3 players. That means that if you bought a Microsoft Zune, you cannot use iTunes music.

I don't know if this has been posted before -
*however I found a website that has Easter Eggs in Mac OS X listed.
Personally I think some of them are hilarious.

For the longest time after switching to my Macbook Pro, I was baffled by the lack of a "print selection" option. I just figured out a way to get the same kind of effect when printing something off the internet. Firefox extension Clipmarks allows you to select a portion of text, images, or anything else on a website and print only what you've selected.

Apple's new version of the OS X operating system has been out now a little over a week. I know some of you upgraded right away as you're technoholics like me :-)
For those of you who have cut over have you had any problems? Any regrets?

Today is the day. In just a few short hours I will get my hands on the real, final copy of Leopard. While I have had access to the betas for months it is not the same.

One of the neatest features in 10.5, which is releasing today, is a called Time Machine. All you need is an external drive hooked up to your Mac and then you turn it on. It scans your drive hourly and backs up any changes made to your files.
