Raging around the Christmas Tree
I was raised a non-practicing Jew, so we never had a Christmas tree in our house. When my father remarried a Lutheran woman, they'd put up a tree every year, but I only spent weekends there, so it wasn't my real home.
When I moved out of my mother's house, I never bothered putting up a tree, although I'd always wanted to, because it seemed like too much effort, what with me living alone.
O Christmas Tree!
Here is our Christmas tree and some of my favorite decorations. I've always been somewhat old-fashioned (Victorian) with my tree. I went with a skinny tree this year because I've re-arranged my furniture and my big 8.5 ft just didn't fit in the space.
National Christmas Tree in Washington, DC - Love it or Hate it?
In all the years I have lived in DC, I never have been wowed by the National Christmas Tree. It is always a little lumpy and misshapen, and the ornaments are silly-looking. But that could be just my jaded opinion.

When I was in 11th grade I did an exchange year to the US. I stayed with wonderful people in New Mexico, which was really nice, cause they lived up in the mountains, so I had a White Christmas. The thing which amazed me most was, of course, the :tree:.

I love this time of year, the spread of holiday cheer and all the bright lights and christmas trees make me sooo happy!! Ooo and not to mention all the yummy holiday food&drinks!! I wore this outfit out to dinner the other night with my sister and some friends!
