I haven't seen any posts in ths area for quite some time so I hope no one will mind my notes on a recent tasting.
I had the opportunity recently to taste a few of the many good bottles from the 80's and the results were delicious. I tasted an 83 Boyd Cantenac and Prieure Lichine both from Margaux, an 82 Lanessan from the haut medoc and finally an 85 Lynch Bages which is a Pauillac. The bottles had been stored reasonably well and the fills were very good, although the two Margaux had corks which were almost wet to the top and crumbled. Having just found a bottle from 1998 which was leaking in a case of my own, there can be no better advice than to constantly monitor your wines, especially if they are still in a wooden case.
While 82 Bordeaux put Robert Parker on the map (he declared it the wine of the century) and subsequently led the way to his favorable word on any review raising the price of wine, it was fun looking back and seeing what these were all about. Though fortuitously donated by another cellar, I was looking forward to tasting mature wines I had never been able to experience when they were young. Each was carefully standing upright for 4 days and then decanted carefully one hour before serving.

Dear GeekSugar,
I just got a new BlackBerry and was very excited to select my new ringtone and SMS notification sounds. When I am in my profiles, there's an option for setting for In Holster and Out of Holster, but I don't know what that means. Please help!

Several of the models at the L.A.M.B presentation this afternoon eschewed pants. But they could have been totally naked (or wearing barrels, or modeling gowns made from banana peels) for all that anyone paid any attention to them. Those poor hungry girls played distinctly second fiddle to what was happening in the audience.

Some Reflections in the Times of Hysteria
Imagine…
Had anyone said a few months ago that the federal government would step in to provide a trillion dollars to subsidize gasoline—to bring it down to $1.85 a gallon nationwide from prices that were exceeding $4 a gallon—we would have had a national debate. And yet as quietly as the Iraq war cooled down and was ignored, so too we think nothing of the hundreds of billions of dollars saved in reduced energy costs. For the average driver who puts 15,000 miles on his car per year, the annual savings (depending on regional prices, miles per gallon, and the amount and type of miles driven) could reach $1500-2000.

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama opened his presidency by breaking sharply from George W. Bush's unpopular administration, but he mostly avoided divisive partisan and ideological stands. He focused instead on fixing the economy, repairing a battered world image and cleaning up government.

Ok, my fellow BPJs - I have been feeling a bit down lately and decided to do a little lunch-time shopping to cheer myself up and thought I would share my haul with you all, since I got some really great kits and some awesome freebies!
First, I headed to Macy's to take advantage of their Clinique gift with purchase offer (which I posted in BPJ here: http://teamsugar.com/group/88093/blog/2348238 ) I bought the 7 day scrub cream, #2 Clarifying lotion and Extra Mild Liquid Facial Soap. So with those purchases (and free gift!) in the bag, I wandered over to Nordstrom's.

Today (as most days), I've got my really amazing fake, large copper Balenciaga bag. It looks like the one in the Pic below, except that it's a more gorgeous shade of metallic copper, and even bigger (Think: Mary Kate Olsen :-)).
In it is a Vision Screening and Requirements form that I need my optometrist to fill out in order to extend my Driver's License...but I'm not sure how to get there, since legally I can't drive!

Will a wave of piracy lawsuits bring down Forever 21?
By Jeff Koyen
FAUSTIAN BARGAINS With God on their side (and a few unwilling designers), Forever 21 has quadrupled in size since 2001 (Photo: Getty Images) Not too long ago, a down-market clothier could sell cheap runway knockoffs for pennies on the dollar and no one cried foul. After all, major fashion designers didn't exactly lose customers when suburban day-trippers picked up "Channel" clutches on Canal Street.
