In August, National Public Radio's flagship music program All Songs Considered published "The Best Music of 2009 (So Far)," a rundown of the top 30 songs and albums of the year-to-date as voted by the show's listeners.
The results of the survey suggest that the All Songs Considered audience has a fuzzy understanding of the word "all." "The Best Music of 2009 (So Far)" consists almost entirely of indie-rockers: acts like The Decemberists, Wilco, Grizzly Bear, Neko Case, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, and Animal Collective, the Brooklyn art-rock group that took the top spot in both the best songs and best albums tallies.

I couldn't be more pleased that Woxy.com decided to pack up their Cincinnati space and move shop to Austin. This process began a few days ago and while they are off the air, they have provided an amazing playlist of the Top 500 Modern Rock songs. This playlist has everything, Pixies, The Clash, Bowie, Fugazi, Radiohead, Violent Femmes, Bjork, Portishead, Wilco, DJ Shadow, Mazzy Star, Nirvana...

Let's get to it: ACL Fest organizers dropped the aftershow schedule yesterday, and it's fairly extensive. Stubb's, La Zona Rosa, The Parish, and Antone's will all host aftershows over the Thursday to Sunday that everyone is in town for the big event. Highlights include an intimate show from The White Stripes and Cold War Kids at Stubb's, an extra gig from Argentina's loungerific Gotan Project (also at Stubb's), appearances by Spoon, Common, and Queens Of The Stone Age at La Zona Rosa, and a Rodrigo y Gabriela show at Antone's.

Kanye West was the big finale to what's being called one of the most successful Lollapalooza Fests yet. He and Nine Inch Nails took the stage on Sunday to close out the music festival in Chicago, which is also Kanye's hometown.
There were over 75,000 fans each day of the three-day event, with musical acts playing on one of eight stages.

I haven't watched SNL in years. Honestly, I think the last time I watched a full episode was about three years ago when I was at a friend's house and she wanted to watch because Death Cab was on.
But I just saw that Ellen Page is hosting.
