I love summer reading lists! Check out USA Today's list that was published yesterday and can be found online at http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2008-05-21-summer-books-calendar_N.htm
I jotted down about 10 to add to my library wait list. If we get rain this weekend I already have a stack that I need to finish.

I've seen this in an Electronic Billboard as I was driving and wondering if anyone captured it. I didn't realize there was an ad posted in the newspaper - enjoy!

Moms are usually busy running around and trying to save the world. We are sometimes called to act like super-women with a list of projects and things that must be accomplished in one day. Do you ever stop to see what is going on around you? Well, maybe it is time you do. Life is changing in this country, little by little and day by day. The CHANGE Obama promised is beginning to show. Obama is seen in a video in November 2008 addressing the cheering crowds and saying that we are just days away from "FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The change he had in mind is so incredibly drastic that if left unchecked it could mean the end of Capitalism, which in turn would totally destroy the incredible sources of opportunity that have always made this country great. Sure Communism sounds good on paper ... and interestingly enough, it is being taught in many of our institutions of higher learning as a way to achieve equality among people. That sounds great, doesn't it?

Though last week it was reported that Beyoncé's Malaysian concert would be postponed, USA Today reports it has been canceled entirely. And now Islamic conservatives in Egypt, where she's scheduled to perform tonight, are waging a fierce campaign against her, labeling her show an "insolent sex party" and "nudity party." Beyoncé plans to shake her stuff for her fans there anyway, with extra security.

WASHINGTON — Even as Americans struggle with two wars and an economy in tatters, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds majorities in favor of investigating some of the thorniest unfinished business from the Bush administration: Whether its tactics in the "war on terror" broke the law.
Close to two-thirds of those surveyed said there should be investigations into allegations that the Bush team used torture to interrogate terrorism suspects and its program of wiretapping U.S. citizens without getting warrants.

Of those living today in America who were alive 50 years ago, few could have imagined, let alone predicted, that homosexuality would encroach on our culture as it has. In fact, it would have been unthinkable.
