DIET SCAMS
In America alone, 50 million people go on a diet every year. More than 15 percent of those people--about 8 million--try to do it in a structured program with supervision. The only real solution is simple: eat fewer calories, exercise more (or become more physically active), and you'll lose weight.

Everyone who’s seen Priscilla Presley in the last few years has had one question: What the hell happened to her face? Priscilla has always been a beautiful woman, but lately her face has looked frightening and plastic- much like the face of socialite infamous Jocelyn Wildenstein, better known as “The Cat Lady.” TMZ reports that Priscilla was the victim of a scam artist who claimed his injections were better than Botox, when in fact they were just low-grade silicone.

Reported cases of business fraud have risen by an astounding 450% during the first six months of 2009, according to the accountants BDO Stoy Hayward.
So far this year fraud has cost Scottish companies as much as £10m compared with just over £1.8m for the same period last year. The accountancy firm had predicted a rise in fraud because of the economic downturn, but the steep rate of increase has shocked even industry experts.
The level of recorded fraud only tells half the story, since a lot of fraudulent activity either goes unnoticed or companies avoid reporting it in order to avoid negative publicity.

"Repent," the preacher cried out, startling those who heard him.
This was no street evangelist ranting at the passing crowd, but the archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Church of England. His sharp admonition was pointed directly at a particular set of sinners, who undoubtedly had never given any thought to the morality of their actions: the barons of global banking.

Scammers are riding the wave of concern over the swine flu outbreak in their latest attempts to defraud unsuspecting consumers, the Better Business Bureau said.
“Scammers read newspapers, watch TV and surf the Internet and they know that by using a hook from the day’s top headlines, that they’ll be able to catch lots of fish,” said Jeannette Kopko, spokesperson for the BBB serving Dallas and Northeast Texas. "Right now, issues associated with swine flu and a potential pandemic are of global interest and that means scammers have a very large pond to go phishing in.”
Scam artitsts jumped at the chance to spark their own swine flu spam epidemic as soon as the news of the virus began, according to McAffee Avert Labs, an online security company.
