Congratulations to Angelina Jolie for SAG nomination! Of course, the nomination is for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, for playing Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart. Some of her competition is the same as the Golden Globe nominations.

I miss the days when Boogie and I used to take turns recapping the awards shows. Actually, I miss Boogie, period, but that's a whole 'nuther story.
Anyway, Boog has recapped the SAG awards on her blog but I haven't looked at them yet as I wanted to recap them myself and didn't want her choices to affect mine.

First, the GOOD:
Amanda Bynes
I am in awe of this goddess-inspired gown, and I am thrilled that she finally did something different with her hair. Her makeup is perfect as well. She is tied for my favorite of the evening.

Brad Pitt (in Tom Ford) and Angelina Jolie (in Max Azria) look picture perfect at the 2009 SAG Awards. On the red carpet, E!’s Giuliana Rancic tried to get into a “deep” question and asked the couple on what they’ve learned from each other. Brad responded, “Let’s go to the next question. I just don’t want to get into it here… I’m really thrown by the GlamCam that’s undressing me as we speak.”
Angie said, laughing, “It seems like a really odd moment for all of that.

I didn't watch the SAG Awards last night so I didn't know that he did this until just now.
Unlike many actors that have been talking about Heath just to get their names in the press *cough*JohnTravolta*cough*, DDL seems to be genuinely speaking with admiration and respect.
Heath was also honored in the "In Memoriam" tribute.

Cate Blanchett was recognized for leading- and supporting-actress performances, and Into the Wild earned four top nods as the nominations for the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced Thursday.
Just as she did at the Golden Globe nominations, Blanchett earned SAG nods for her turns in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and I'm Not There. Meanwhile, Into the Wild, the story of a young man's trip into the wilderness of Alaska, was the only film to boast nominations for a lead-acting performance (Emile Hirsch for best actor) as well as best ensemble cast.
