I needed to make a small batch of cupcakes for a man at church, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to both try out The Pioneer Woman's Best Chocolate Sheet Cake Ever and to show you a small tutorial on how I make buttercream icing and how to pipe it onto cupcakes. I felt the need to try this recipe because I have heard so many wonderful things about it, but I wanted to try it in cupcake form, so I halved the recipe. Here's the recipe and the following pictures that I took during the process.

I am currently contracting at an old place of employment but will need a new job in 2 months or so. With the economy what it is, I'd like to start looking now. Any tips for revamping my resume would be really helpful!

Photography is one of my favorite geeky hobbies. Cameras are a gadget that you can waste time with and then have something great to show after you're done playing with it (unlike so many others!).
If you've already mastered looking great for the camera, and want to tips for getting behind it check out PopPhoto!

Q&A with Tom Carter, author of CHINA: Portrait of a People
American photojournalist Tom Carter has spent the past four years in the People’s Republic of China, traversing all 33 provinces and autonomous regions not just once but twice. The San Francisco native’s hardback book, a definitive 800-image volume aptly entitled CHINA: Portrait of a People, is due out this winter from Hong Kong publisher Blacksmith Books. Tom took a day off from travelling to discuss the challenges of taking pictures in China, how he evaded censorship in the tightly-controlled republic, and to share a few insider tips on visiting what is to become the world’s largest tourism market.

I decided to change my profile picture after all the stuff going on about it, so here is the new profile picture and the makeup that goes along with it.
Profile picture:
I think most of you can see or have already guessed, the eye was photoshopped... I changed my eye colour and I drew in false lashes.

Stylist Rachel Zoe has often been cited as the reason so many starlets have become so stick thin in the last few years – and accusation she wholeheartedly denies. Though for her recent cover of Harper’s Bazaar they had to Photoshop her from a size 0 to a size 8. And she admits eating isn’t exactly on the top – or the bottom – of her to do list.

Here is it, my first "tutorial" like look with more pictures. I do have a terrible cold so don't look at the tired eyes but look at the make-up on the eyes :P. This does take a lot more time so this won't be my usual post.
