Oslo band Metronomy flew in on a rainy Paris morning to open for Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall/Winter 2009 show with synthesized keyboard and vocals. Having designed the sleeve for the band’s album, Lagerfeld solicited the trio’s futuristic sounds to set the stage for the Russian tsarina meets space travel presentation. There was earpiece silver jewelry straight from Wong Kar Wai’s movie 2046 and fur seamed onto giant helmets that made the models look slightly like bobbleheads.

It's tough to beat a front row that includes Salma Hayek, Thandie Newton and an enthusiastic Beatle. Stella McCartney's early morning show was a star-studded event, and the range of hits were sure to keep 'em coming. Her manned-up blazers with thigh-high leather boots were a fashiony take on corporate greed, 80s-style.

Isabel Marant — a Fab obsession — opted for more detail, more color, and more leg for Spring. Per usual, I adore everything, minus the camouflage boots. Marant delivered an eclectic chic mix of frilly skirts and dresses, sumptuous tweed, cool prints, girlie ruffles, city shorts, hot hot pink, and sweet turquoise.

Ali Michael has had her fair share of fashion controversy so far: first the article that exposed her departure from Paris fashion week because she had gained 5 pounds, only walking one show. Then, when she couldn't hide it anymore, she confessed to Teen Vogue her issues with eating and taking laxitives. Now, her cover of Wallpaper Magazine has some people questioning the direction of her career, as well as the focus of it.
