May 13, 2008 - Rock Band may be currently cornering the full-band music game genre, but Activision and Neversoft have come out swinging, revealing loads of new info on the next installment in the franchise, aimed at unseating EA and MTV games' reigning rockstar simulator.
According to a cover-story spread in this month's issue of Game Informer magazine, Guitar Hero IV will introduce massive changes to the traditionally guitar-focused series, starting with a drum set addition meant to knock Rock Band's kit offstage.
The kit looks similar to Rock Band's, with its bass drum pedal and primary-colored circular pads (there are only three in GHIV), but that's where the similarities end.

One of Jimi Hendrix’s favorite guitars, which he set on fire while preforming on a London stage more than 40 years ago and thought to have been lost forever, is to be auctioned later this year.
During a one-off performance at London’s Finsbury Astoria in March 1967, the guitar genius, famously doused a 1965 Fender Stratocaster, with lighter fuel and set it afire. The legendary rock showman had to be rushed to hospital with minor burns to his hands after the stunt, and the guitar, slightly damaged along the neck and pickboard, was recovered by his staff.

Very important decision coming up. We're thinking of getting either Rock Band or Guitar Hero and can't decide. I'm leaning toward Guitar Hero since all our friend have Rock Band and so it'd be something different.

deprived because of one little game called Guitar Hero. It's become everyone's favorite hobby, whether you're at a get together with friends, or just nerding out in your living room.
But Gibson Guitar Corporation are the cops that are busting up the party.

Over the weekend, I finally got my Guitar Hero 3 for Wii! After 4 hours of playing on Saturday an hour Sunday morning then after about a few songs on Monday I passed Career Mode on Easy level. I'm on to Medium but that incorporates the blue button so it's a bit harder, especially for me and my smaller hands.

For those of you who are huge Aerosmith fans like me, I just wanted to let you know that June 28, a version of Guitar Hero will be released that will be mostly Aerosmith songs. It will be the first band-specific version to come out and what better band? I can't wait!
