I have done some spontaneous trips in the past couple of years - I haven't thought alot of things through about them, like who I'm travelling with or where I'm going to stay or whether I have enough money to get through it. Makes it more fun, I always say - the suspense keeps me guessing, wanting more and the excitement of it being a risky business keeps adrenline at a constant high. It also gives me the freedom to come up with plans as I go along.

Your favorite fast food restaurant is often like your favorite city: Visit some neighborhoods and you live the high life. Visit others and you’re just plain asking for trouble.

I was sent these by my sister. Really I have NO idea if they're true or not. I bet Grandpa would know though.

I am going out of town tnoight, and have been looking forward all day to the sub i would get for dinner on the way: A 6" grilled chicken MTO sub from Sheetz. I know sounds silly, but it is crazy good and I just discovered a route to my parents that passes one (I have been sheetzless for years). In the spirit of full disclosure, I went to the site to look up the nutrition info and record iton sparkpeople.

I posted this blog quickly today in response to a discussion on the airport security dogs thread. In my rush, I neglected to link it here, and thought you might all be interested. I think it's worth noting that most of these stories seem to be in Minnesota...a conspiracy theorist might say that they're nibbling away at our security measures in what is perceived as an out-of-the-way area, not well covered by national media....

I had to write a paper for my english class about the thing i struggle the most with. So naturally i wrote about food. Its not a true story, but parts of it are and its something we can all relate to.

It was Postman Dave's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the
mail through all kinds of weather to the same neighbourhood.
When he arrived at the first house on his route, he was greeted by the
whole family there, who all hugged and congratulated him and sent him
on his way with a gift check for $500.
At the second house, they presented him fine Cuban cigars in an 18-carat
gold box.

I love these super simple muffins. I made cheddar muffins and bacon muffins today for the kids' lunch while they were at the parade. They're totally portable and easy for them to eat on the go.

Paula Deen made fried mac and cheese today and I was drooling. I am definitely going to try it. Once a year isn't too bad, right?
