The Fourth Estate is certainly doing its part for Obamacare
RAMESH PONNURU
On October 7, the Congressional Budget Office released a preliminary analysis of Senate Finance Committee chairman Max Baucus’s health-care bill. The report said that the bill would net the government $81 billion over ten years — on certain assumptions, which the report itself suggested were unrealistic.
The report, for one thing, factored in $200 billion in reduced physician payments under Medicare.

Moms are usually busy running around and trying to save the world. We are sometimes called to act like super-women with a list of projects and things that must be accomplished in one day. Do you ever stop to see what is going on around you? Well, maybe it is time you do. Life is changing in this country, little by little and day by day. The CHANGE Obama promised is beginning to show. Obama is seen in a video in November 2008 addressing the cheering crowds and saying that we are just days away from "FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The change he had in mind is so incredibly drastic that if left unchecked it could mean the end of Capitalism, which in turn would totally destroy the incredible sources of opportunity that have always made this country great. Sure Communism sounds good on paper ... and interestingly enough, it is being taught in many of our institutions of higher learning as a way to achieve equality among people. That sounds great, doesn't it?

As evidence that the country is closer to socialist than capitalist these days, radio and talk show host Glenn Beck recently made this claim about John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy:
"I mean, we've got czars now," Beck said during his July 22, 2009, program. "Czars like John Holdren, who has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population."
Political figures like Holdren, who are little-known by most Americans, make easy targets.

There's Plenty of Energy at the Bottom
By William Tucker
On December 29, 1959, on the threshold of the 1960s, Richard Feynman, "the best mind since Einstein" and interpreter of quantum mechanics, gave a lecture at the California Institute of Technology that is generally regarded to be the opening bell of the Information Age. It was titled, "There's Plenty of Room at the Bottom."
"There is a device on the market, they tell me, that can write the Lord's Prayer on the head of a pin," Feynman began.

1. Worst fast-food chicken meal
Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips from McDonald's (5 pieces) with creamy ranch sauce
830 calories
55 grams (g) fat (4.5 g trans fat)
48 g carbohydrates
The only thing "premium" about these strips is the caloric price you pay. Add a large fries and regular soda and this seemingly innocuous chicken meal tops out at 1,710 calories.

I am an animal lover and I know that I sort of went into my feelings about them before in another blog, but I thought I would write another one. Just in case you do not know who PETA is you can go to www.peta.org to get the full aspect on PETA, but be warned, there is some graphic material on there. Basically PETA is "People for the ethical treatment of animals", which basically they state that animals should not be used for any kind of meat, fur, or be used in any way such as pulling farm equipment, having jobs, etc.

Socialized Medicine on Display
By Hal G.P. Colebatch
Latest news in the exciting saga of Britain's socialized medicine is that a nurse, Margaret Haywood, aged 58, has been struck off for the crime of exposing neglect and mistreatment of elderly patients at the Royal Sussex Hospital on a television program. It was found that because of this: "It would not be in the public interest for her to be able to practise as a nurse."
