In San Francisco, the weather can be hmm . . .

It's marathon season! I have to admit, there is something incredibly inspiring about watching the marathoners in New York City (the race is this Sunday). I love a good run, and whether you're a marathoner-in-training or a recreational runner, here are four sites that will help you train and get prepped for the race!

I've heard that the key to mental longevity is to always keep your mind open to learning new things. One easy way is to adopt a few new words and use them in your daily conversations. Surely you don't want to sit around all day, flipping through a thesaurus, so let me introduce you to Save the Words.

Most of you (58 percent in total) said you would just move on and forgive and forget when the website that you're visiting needs some downtime or crashes. But if it's a paid online or service, a majority of you would consider abandoning that service if it kept having issues.
I received the following email message from an online retailer that I frequently visit, and although I didn't take part in the heavy-traffic sale, I sympathize for those who were unable to take part because of the site outage.

There are a ton of things you can do with your digital photos and a photo editor besides just adjusting light and focus. You can make them into movie stills, or turn them into Lomo works of art. I happen to like the aged look, and it's always fun to turn them into Polaroids, but if you aren't using Poladroid, this can take forever to make the effect yourself.

With over 85,000 applications in Apple's App Store, it's tricky to browse by category if you're not certain exactly what you're looking for. I often find myself frustrated, thinking, "I bet there is an app for that, Apple, but where is it?" OK, I'll admit it, I may know a little too much about some apps.

There is nothing fun about sitting on the phone waiting for customer service. Nothing. Unfortunately, it's a fact of consumer life.

Ahh, Summer. Although I love Fall (hello, gadget fashion!), I can't help but get a pang of sadness knowing that this is really the last warm holiday weekend to look forward to this year. Summer is the quintessential time of year to travel and lounge around in the sun, and if you've headed out of town this season, you've most likely used a travel-planning website like Trip Advisor or Diddit to help you get there.

Hmm, can you spot the similarities between each of these photos? The eighties hair — check, the eighties outfits — check, the pink and blue laser beam backdrops — big check. I can't believe that I almost forgot about these lightsaber-esque backgrounds that graced hundreds of thousands of school portraits!

This geek may have known that gadgets in the bedroom might not do a sex life good, but she had no idea that there's a website that allows you to chronicle all of the dirty details of your sex life. I can officially say there's a website for everything, because with Bedpost, you can enter the date you had sex with someone, the time, how long it lasted, who it was with, you can include descriptive tags, and my fave — the star rating scale.
The site creators know that this info is as private as your financial data, so they swear it's kept confidential, secure, and can be deleted at anytime.
