In San Francisco, the weather can be hmm . . . how do I say . . . so up and down that I really do depend on my daily cell phone weather forecast deliveries to know what the heck I should wear each day! I like Umbrella Today because it texts me whenever I need to take an umbrella to work with me, but I also like Sleeves, since it says if I need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, or if I can go sleeveless!

Well I think I've found one that tops em' all. With Obama Weather, you just enter your zip, and there's our cute President Barack Obama showing you a full weather forecast, and the most appropriate attire to wear each day! I'm loving it!

Sleeves Tells You if It's Warm Enough For a T-Shirt

I don't know what it is about travel websites or websites about weather, but I'm obsessed! I've already admitted to having a problem predicting the daily weather forecast, so any site or app that helps me in this task is always appreciated.

Sleeves is a fun, simple, forecast website that will tell you if you should wear long sleeves, short sleeves, go sleeveless, or wear two layers. Just enter your zip code, click go, and voila! Your personal forecast in one of the most simplest forms!

Get Daily Weather Forecasts Right on Your Cell Phone

I ran into a little problem the other day. To make a long story short, I overestimated how warm the weather was going to be and froze my butt off at work. I'm sure by taking one look at my Summer attire, FabSugar must have wondered if I had paid attention to the frigid forecast - which I didn't - but boy did I learn my lesson. I've become a bit reliant on Umbrella Today for notifications on my cell when it's going to rain, so after my error in weather judgment, I've decided to take action.

The Weather Channel has a weather alert service that can either (or both) text you or email you the weather forecast each day. Just enter your location, phone number, and what time you want your alert delivered, so you'll never get caught out in the cold again!

The Forecaster Clock Acts As Your Personal Weatherman

I thought I had found the solution to weather updates with Umbrella Today - a neat site that will text you when you need to take an umbrella with you that day. Guess again!

A new little invention called the Weather Man Forecaster Clock ($43) features weather forecast icons (sunny, cloudy, rainy) and a cute little weatherman guy that comes with 15 different outfits, so you know exactly what to expect when you walk outside. Other features include an alarm clock, sunrise and sunset times, and barometer pressure trends. It doesn't get any easier than that!

I'm significantly more interested in weather-related tips now that, you know, the weather is starting to suck. Umbrella Today alone has already saved me from some downpours! But since I live in a place like San Francisco where the weather report changes every three seconds (yes, literally), I am grateful for ForecastFox.

It's just a free add-on for my statusbar, telling me how the weather's lookin' in my neck of the woods, and internationally, if I want it! Stay dry, kids.

Website of the Day: Weather Studio

Whenever I need an instant weather report, I usually refer to my six-day forecast widget which sits nicely on my dashboard. However, whenever I'm planning a trip and need to check the forecast (do I need an umbrella or sunglasses?), I couldn't be bothered changing the default city for my widget, so I usually head on over to a site called Weather Studio.

Similar to Simple Weather, which is also fabulous, Weather Studio provides an easy-to-read weather report for the city you enter. You can also check out an hourly report as well as the five-day forecast for a given location. And if you really love it, you can download the free Weather Studio toolbar!

Website of the Day: Simple Weather

Last week, I shared a fun tip with you which explained how to use Google as your mobile weatherman.

This week, I just have to tell you about a fabulous site called Simple Weather.

The site is exactly its name - simple basic good ol' fashioned weather. No crazy frills and gimmicks with this one folks. You won't find any annoying pop-ups, flashing banners or ads on this site to distract you from the actual forecast. Just enter your zip or city and the weather will be ever-so-beautifully displayed for that day and the next five days.

Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
Choose "Blog"
Give your photo a Title
Leave the category as "general"
Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
Click Submit

Geek Tip: Get Weather Updates on Your RSS Reader

Is there no end to the genius of RSS? Not only do all my fabulous blogs wait patiently for me, and matching ads for the piece of furniture I am currently hunting for on Craigslist are delivered right to me, but now I can check the weather in the same place!

Websites like the WeatherBug and The Weather Channel supply RSS Feeds; you supply your location, and then add it to your RSS Reader of choice (I like both Google Reader and Bloglines). Oh and San Francisco? It's rain, rain, and more rain. And then it might rain.
