As a dedicated Gorillapod user, I really don't need a bottle-cap tripod, but I feel like I'm seeing them everywhere lately, and they seem like they'd make a great gift for my friends who appraise my Gorillapod as "neat," but I can tell they're totally thinking it's a nerd-core item to own.
But here's the thing — novel and convenient, bottle-cap tripods, like this one, seem like a good idea, but all I can see is this: You're at a bar with it set up to take your pic, when a sauced jughead stumbles by and nudges it — orrrr, say you accidentally chose a bottle that wasn't full enough to balance the weight of the camera and AAAAGH! The slow mo in my head of a digital camera sailing to the ground makes me want to cry right now.

Traditional tripods are usually large, hard to carry and aren't that great to look at. Thankfully companies like Versa are coming out with small, flexible tripods that are great for hands-free photo shoots. I've seen similar models like this design including the all terrain tripod, but I've never seen such a bright color selection before!

Why lug around a heavy tripod for your camera when you can use the ultraportable FOZI tripod by Timetable? Featured on Wired, the FOZI consists of three plastic cutouts that connect together to form a steady support for most compact cameras. Use this tripod to hold your camera at four different angles and easily stow it in your purse when it's not in use.

Wouldn't you agree that this iPod accessory mimics the traditional camera with tripod set-up? Recently announced by Focal Corp Japan, this three-legged Boomtune Mini speaker system, which by the way is named "Julia," connects to the iPod via a 3.5mm stereo plug. Straight from New Launches, two of the tripod legs come with speakers while the third operates as the battery compartment.

I've already told you the amazing benefits to owning a Gorillapod — the tripod that attaches to most anything with its bendable, flexible legs and small to large sizes for your point-and-shoot or SLRs — and now the Gorillapod Mobile turns your mobile device into a take-anywhere-shoot-anywhere camera.
You could say I'm turning into an iPhone paparazzi with how many photos I've taken with the on-board camera, so toting this tiny and portable tripod would make including myself into the snapshot even easier. Just like the original Gorillapod, the legs can contort around almost any object, turning a mundane stop sign into the ultimate steady hand for your pics.

You finally get whisked away to that tropical island you've been fantasizing about behind your cubicle, but once you get there, you're forced to ask strangers to take some romantic shots of you and your beau. Other options include setting up a mini tripod, do the "hold out the arm and hope for the best shot," find a steady surface and 10-9-8 run to get that perfect picture, or you can get a random to play paparazzi.
When the adorable Seal and Heidi Klum attended the Emmys on Sunday, Seal got creative by capturing the photo himself on his iPhone as the two shared a kiss.
