For those of you who liked the Cuby Speaker that I posted last week, here's another portable iPod Shuffle speaker with a few more features. Corega Japan has just come out with these tantalizing mini boombox docks that deliver quality output from their built-in speakers. While playing your tunes, you can connect the dock to your laptop or computer via the included USB port- therefore charging and transferring songs all at the same time. Featured on mobile magazine, the Corega CG-IPSPDC02 is powered with 2 AA batteries and comes in the same five colors as the Shuffle. These speakers are set to hit stores in Japan later this month with a price tag of $30.

It has a blue "Power on" LED indicator. I wouldn't say it's a gadget you have to have, but it's useful and saves space, which is always appreciated. Note: My shuffle is wearing a Mophie Shuffle cover, which I actually haven't taken off since I put it on. Just wanted to make sure you knew it's not part of the USB charger.

The holidays are coming, which means there will be lots of new products hitting the scene before prime shopping time. And speaking of prime, Asus officially announced its entry into the tablet and ultrabook category - the Eee Pad Transformer Prime - this morning. Priced at $499 for a 32GB model and $599 for a 64GB version, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime has a number of features that will get your geeky juices flowing. Learn about six of them below.

It's tiny - The Transformer Prime is only 8.3mm thick and weighs just over a pound, which will make this a perfect choice for frequent travelers.
The optional dock - The Transformer Prime can, well, transform into an ultrabook with the addition of the optional $149 keyboard dock, which comes with a touchpad, USB port, and SD card slot, even an independent battery helping you stay productive for longer.
It's incredibly powerful - For a tablet, the Transformer Prime will blow you away. Coming stocked with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, this tablet is the fastest on the market. Additionally, the Transformer Prime will come with 1GB of RAM, and while it will run Android 3.2 when it launches in December, Asus promises there will be an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year.

Space Junk Hits Hazardous Peak

According to a new report by the National Research Council, space junk has reached its "tipping point" and is set to become a crucial problem for future space travelers in the next 10 to 20 years.

The effects of space debris were seen in June when the crew of International Space Station evacuated to the escape capsule when it appeared that a chunk of debris would hit the station. Luckily, the docking of the Atlantis shuttle pushed the space station just far enough away to avoid a collision while the objects sped by at nearly 17,000 mph.

Per the council's report, there is currently enough debris in orbit "to continually collide and create even more debris, raising the risk of spacecraft failures." The committee recommends that NASA investigate a plan to track the space objects and ways to mitigate their potential harm on humans in space and robotic equipments, such as the satellites we use back on Earth to power our communication networks. Further complicating matters, only about 30 percent of the debris is from the US, which may make dealing with foreign satellites and technology a sensitive issue.

Staying Safe While You Cycle and Sightsee

San Francisco, my fair foggy city, is pro-cycling, but when I travel I'm always awed by bike-sharing programs that are popping up in cities like Paris, London, Miami, and many others around the world. The concept is simple: pay a few dollars (and swipe your credit card as deposit) and you can easily hop on one of thousands of bikes stationed throughout a city and ride for as long as you like. When you're done, you simply return your bike at any station with a free dock. Recently while on vacation in London, I was reminded of how great the bike-sharing programs are for tourists. London's bike-sharing stations, for example, are located at all the major tourist spots and the check-out kiosks don't require an account to sign up and have easy-to-follow instructions, so I jumped at the chance to experience a biker's view of the city.

Hopping on a bike and touring a city may seem like the perfect way to take in the sights, but if you're a casual cyclist like me, a little prep before claiming your two wheels can go a long way in keeping you safe (not to mention keeping you from annoying pedestrians and motorists). Read on for a few tips that helped me stay safe during my impromptu bike ride.

Julius Dance Machine Gets the Party Started Anywhere

March is in like a lion, but sunny days will be here soon, meaning long days spent outside with the family. And what is better than background music to go along with your day at the beach? An iPod speaker station is the perfect solution for keeping tots entertained and setting a fun mood.

I tried out the Julius Dance Machine Speaker Station ($100) that Paul Frank had sent over to see if it could, in fact, get the party started. Made for all iPod devices (although adaptors are not included), it easily mounts your iPod and charges it while playing. The speaker dock comes with an adaptor, but also includes a rechargeable battery, meaning it is made for travel.

Who is this designed for? What I liked about this kid-friendly speaker dock was its ease of use - there's only a few buttons, including the volume buttons, which are on the monkey's ears, and the power button at the top of his head.

What sets it apart? At first, I wondered exactly what would make this simple speaker dock a "dance machine," but I quickly realized why it's a good purchase. Moms and dads can take it along to a picnic or kid's birthday party and get up to six hours of playtime on the rechargeable battery.

What did it sound like? The speaker sound was clear, and the volume reached a loud level. I didn't test it outside, but the sound was more than acceptable for such a small speaker station, even though I was at first concerned that some sound may be distorted since the iPod mounts right in front of the speakers. I can imagine that if you were in a noisy area it may not have the power to project far, but its size and portability make it a great option for an impromptu backyard party or a day at the park.

Would I recommend it? I can see how someone who loves the Paul Frank monkey would go bananas over this speaker dock. It's portable, easy to use, and - aside from the impenetrable plastic packaging it comes in - easy to set up.

William and Kate Get Mike and Zara's Wedding Party Started on a Boat!

Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, boarded the royal yacht Britannia, which was docked in Edinburgh, this afternoon in order to celebrate his first cousin Zara Phillips's wedding with a cocktail party! Kate recycled the green Diane von Furstenberg dress she wore during her visit to LA earlier this month. Prince Harry was also in attendance, and he was spotted ascending the same carpeted stairs that the bride and her husband-to-be, Mike Tindall, walked up. Zara was decked out in a dress from Alice and Olivia. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie also colorfully turned out, along with the elder's boyfriend, Dave Clark. Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall will marry tomorrow at the city's Canongate Kirk, and her royal relatives will be out in full force. Kate and William often go by their titles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but their Scottish equivalents are the Earl and Countess of Strathearn. Scotland is a special place for the couple, as it's where they met and fell in love while students at the University of St. Andrews. Wales, though, has been their home as of late, as it's where William works with the Royal Air Force when not traveling with Kate for family obligations.

Kate Middleton Wears Jeans to Board a Seaplane With Prince William

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their travels through Canada and Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted boarding a seaplane headed for Blackford Lake. Earlier in the day, Kate and William participated in a fun day of street hockey in Yellowknife, Northwestern Territories. Kate wore a nude dress and heels for the sporting event, but changed into her Sebago boat shoes and casual jeans for their latest adventure. The couple was greeted on the dock and Kate showed off her excitement with a smile, as William let his wife embark on the aircraft ahead of him. Kate and William have a few more days up north and they travel to California on Friday, but before they head to the West Coast, take a look at all the pictures from Kate Middleton and Prince William's Canadian trip so far!
