Hippie Chic: Toteplus iPod Case for iPod

When it comes to fashion, I shy away from bold prints, but I quite like this Pine case from Tote Plus. The exterior of the case is a paisley patterned fabric framed by genuine leather. The flap has a wide opening to permit access to the top of the iPod and features a magnetic closure, which I much prefer to harder plastic closures that can be incredibly hard to pry off your pod. I was slightly bummed by the fact that the case doesn't allow you access to your click wheel, but then realized I never use my iPod when it's in a case anyway. Tote Plus sells the model to fit 30, 60 and 80 GB iPods and has some other colorful cases (with clickwheel openings) as well as cases for RAZRs.

Brooklyn Industries Laptop Handbag Is Hip and Rare

I'm always on the lookout for chic new laptop bags, and I'm loving this Verdigris Laptop Handbag ($42) from Brooklyn Industries. I like the bag's utilitarian-meets-classy canvas and patent leather design and slim silhouette; it's not like most other laptop bags I've seen. Plus, the shoulder strap detaches, so you can carry the bag like a briefcase.

While this probably isn't the best bag to tote around every single one of my gadgets, it's definitely one for my list of simple and stylin' laptop bags.

A Yummy Leather Bag to Hold All Your Little Laptops

I have sung the praises of the HP Mini on a few occasions, and can't get enough of the netbook craze altogether. And although I love the mighty little machine, it does come with a certain disadvantage: it's so small you might lose it to the depths of your full-sized laptop bag. I know, I know, I shouldn't complain - the lighter the laptop means less shoulder strain for me. So I'm glad I found a bag that perfectly fits all my daily purse essentials, but leaves enough room for my Mini to tag along for the ride. And you wouldn't guess where I found it.

Coming straight from The Gap (it's true), this scrumptious Leather Hobo comes with a perfect 16 inches of legroom to fit your 10, 11 and 13 inch covered laptops perfectly inside. Plus, the fold-over top and adjustable strap make it easy for you to tote your things neatly over your shoulder or across your back and free up your hands.

At $160 dollars, it's quite the investment, but I'm a sucker for soft gray leather. Sure, it's not a perfect example of a super safe and padded carrying vessel, but you already know I don't limit myself to those categorized as "laptop bags" to carry my machines around in anyway.

A Good Pair: Trexta Air Sleeves and the Latico Vertical Tote

If I'm in the market for a new bag, I tend to want to pair it with a new laptop sleeve. This is because realistically, it's only a matter of time before my bag (no matter if it's a laptop bag or not) becomes a transportation device for my trusty computer. So when I saw (and salivated over) the Vertical Tote ($155) on Flight 001, I immediately went on the hunt for a laptop sleeve that would match the adorable flower print on the inside lining. Lo and behold, the sexy Trexta sleeves I was raving about at Macworld were just what I was looking for.

The Trexta MacBook Air Sleeve ($100) in Coffee is the exact hue of brown that could pair with the tote like a good cube of cheese to a vintage wine. Yummy. The 14.5 inch opening in the bag makes for a perfectly snug home for your Macbook Air, while the Trexta case keeps your lappy from getting scratched and abused from whatever you decide to toss in the tote.

My New Laptop Bag: Target's Version of Hayden Harnett's Ibiza

You've heard my gushing about Hayden Harnett's Ibiza, but I was stalling on buying it, even though I've seen it in person and know it's a quality bag; I just hadn't gotten around to justifying the $200 price tag yet.

So when Hayden Harnett revealed its capsule collection for Target, I ran down there, not even expecting to find a laptop bag, just some great accessories. Lo and behold, what did I see? The $50 Flight Tote - an almost exact replica of HH's Ibiza from their regular line (in the image, Target's is on the left).

The differences are obvious for offsetting cost: Target's version is made of light canvas with faux-leather trim; the original is made of a very sturdy nylon and real leather trim. I bought the Flight Tote and have been lugging it to and from work for the past couple of weeks.

I love it for the same reason I loved the Ibiza; I can fit my laptop into the bag's partition intended for it, and put all my other crap (wallet, sunglasses, keys, cell phones) in the other sections of the bag, and - thankfully - my shoulders and back are not aching from carrying everything in one tote.

One thing that's not great for your laptop is how thin the outer fabric and lining is. The lining is a gorgeously printed-silky material, but as thin as silk, so keep in mind it's not going to protect your laptop from dents, if you get into that kind of situation. Since I'm gingerly getting it to and from work, it's fine, but if I were more worried, I'd slip it into a sleeve first, and then put that in the bag (there's plenty of room in the laptop partition to do that, in fact).

There's a long strap on the bag that can be used instead of the double shoulder straps, but it's not so comfortable, since it hangs so long - but, one of my co-workers who does have the real Ibiza has the same exact issue.

So for one big work tote that holds it all - laptop plus life - and is not only stylish, but affordable, I highly recommend the Flight Tote.

Hayden-Harnett's Ibiza Laptop Bag: Exciting As Its Namesake!

I'm all worked up over a laptop bag again, and there's not even a politically incorrect amount of leather involved! Hayden-Harnett's beautiful Ibiza laptop bag is a tote after my traveling heart.

Crafted of red nylon and with leather trim, the Ibiza has enough room for your laptop and other travel things, and I love that there's regular handles, plus a long strap to wear it around your body, messenger style.

It also purportedly converts into a smaller silhouette, which to me means a bag to take out with you once you reach your final destination and shake that computer out of your bag and out of your hair. And maybe I'm just jaded by the $2,000 price tags I've seen on some luxurious laptop bags lately, but $200 for a great bag is sounding temptingly reasonable right about now.
