Airyusha, the Japanese maker of lifestyle and home furnishing products has gone geeky by creating these Robotan Toilet Paper Holders for where else? The bathroom! I could certainly see myself putting one of these heavy duty ceramic holders in my bathroom, although I'd probably stick with a plain color like white. Other colors to choose from include yellow, red and black and you even get a 100% environment safe recycled paper roll with the holder so you can put your robot to good use right away! Each holder costs $50.

I said I loved robots, and I wasn't lying. Would I let one into my most private of sanctuaries - my water closet?!

Heck yes, I would. The Robot Toilet Paper Holder (now available in the US, thanks to Gizmine) is pretty pricey at $40, but it's an exotic import, so maybe it gets a pass?

Plus it's so frackin' cute. I don't even mind that it's pretty weird to take TP out of a robot's head. I'm ready for this weirdness.

I asked my boyfriend to put together a Christmas wish list this year so I don't overload him with gadgets per usual. His response to my request, however, was only half serious - or so I suspect. Among his appeals for a new laptop bag, the Blackberry Pearl and a wireless adapter for our TiVo was the iPod Dock Toilet Paper Holder, which is either the greatest invention ever, or too geeky to handle.

So, which one is it?

Oh, I have seen (and posted) my share of ludicrously priced items on geek - not to mention goofy tech accessories that live up to the authentic geek name. Either way, I think we all wonder: who would buy that?!

If you know anyone who is dangerously close to making a silly purchase, do direct them to Maybe You Shouldn't Buy That. Full of head-scratching products that leave you wondering not just who'd buy it, but whose genius idea it was to make it (my fave: the iPod Dock Toilet Paper Holder), the website will make you feel better about justifying a new cell phone or another pair of new shoes.

OK, he doesn't really say "bless you," but the Robot Tissue Box Holder ($25) does kindly dispense your tissues.

His role distributing paper goods seems mildly familiar though, doesn't it?. . . Oh yeah, he must be related to the Robot Toilet Paper Holder!

Message to paper-giving robots: I'm onto you. If I see one of you handling my paper towels, I shall alert the proper authorities.
