Website of The Day: DIY Planner

There's just something about actually writing down your to-dos that makes you get 'em done. I admit - as much as I tout the joys of using my iPhone to list what I have to do during my day, I always find that I remember more when I'm physically writing them down on a piece of paper. So if you are also a fan of low-tech methods to help you get things done, then check out DIY Planner.

DIY Planner is your one-stop shop for free downloadable and printable to-do lists, exercise logs, budget planners, and the like; plus, you can find tips to making your own planners and productivity templates. You can still get your digital fix (by going online and downloading your planner) while still getting that fulfillment of checking things off your list the trusty old analog way - with a pen and paper.

Easily Move Items to Different Lists With Google Tasks

Have you been using Google tasks to manage your "to do" lists? You can turn Tasks on in the Labs section of your Gmail settings. Once it's enabled, you will find Tasks under your contacts and you can start creating your virtual lists!

Well Google has just announced a new helpful feature in Tasks that is sure to make all of our lives easier. Say you are quickly jotting down notes in your Tasks list throughout the day, but you want to go back later and organize each item in its appropriate list?

Well now you can easily move them to a list by clicking on the arrow to the right of the task. And if you want to create a new list like shopping or travel, etc., just click on the paper icon at the bottom right of the Tasks screen and click on "new list." I think I can officially kiss my text edit "to do" lists goodbye.

Website of the Day: Do It Do It Done

I'm a fan of simple, straightforward websites, and right now Do It Do It Done is doing it for me. A very simple to-do list website, you just start adding tasks to your list (hang on to the url to return to it), and then click them to cross off.

It's kinda sad that this is a bonus now, but there's no required registration to use it. That means, no login to get into what you need. Just go to the page, and start writing in what you need to TCB (that's Taking Care of Business).

To learn how to post your favorite websites to our Website of the Day group, read more.

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.

Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.

Choose "Blog" and "Regular Post."

Give your story a "Title."

Fill in the "Body" with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.

Click "Next."

Choose the audience for your story to "Website of the Day" in the dropdown menu.

Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day").

Change channel to "Technology and Gadgets."

Fill in tag field with relevant tags.

Click "I’m done" to submit content.

So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

Website of the Day: Now Do This

Done and done is one of my favorite - and overused - lines. So when I came across Now Do This, a to-do list application website, I couldn't help but give it a whirl. So maybe you can't see your entire to-do list like with Remember the Milk or sticky notes on your iGoogle page, but it is plain and simple. Just go to the website, enter your tasks and to-do items in order of priority, hit save, and it'll show you the first one on your list. Click done when a task is completed and it'll move on to the next one, just like that. Done and done.

Do you have a favorite website you want to share with us? Submit your faves to our Website of the Day group! To learn how, just read more.

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.

Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.

Choose "Blog" and “Regular Post.”

Give your story a “Title.”

Fill in the “Body” with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.

Click “Next."

Choose the audience for your story to “Website of the Day” in the drop-down menu

Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day").

Change channel to “Technology and Gadgets.”

Cool Capture: Photography Class Collection From ladyisadorable

Reader ladyisadorable recently added some stunning shots to the Cool Capture group:

I love the repetition of the lamp posts in this picture. I just wish that I had backed up more so the top of the lamp hadn't been cut off. This was taken at the University of Georgia. I used to live in Athens and my friends and I would wander around campus even though we weren't in college and just hang out. This was taken with a Vivitar v3800n.

View the rest of ladyisadorable's Photography 1 class photos in her Cool Capture slideshow.

Do you have a photo you absolutely love? Create a PopSugar Account or login to your account. Then join the Cool Capture group and share your image, the model of camera used to take the photo, and a little about the image or moment you captured and it could be featured on GeekSugar. Here's a detailed guide to posting questions or posts to groups if you are new to the PopSugar Community.

Lego USB Hub: Love It or Leave It?

Here's my latest Lego-themed find: Lego USB Hubs ($20).

Available in four bright colors (yellow, red, black, and blue) the hubs are four inches long and have ports for up to four USB cables or devices.

It's definitely been a Lego-overload recently, but I have to admit, I'm a fan of this product, too. What do you think?

Website of the Day: It Made My Day

Sometimes, you just need a little digital pick-me-up, and today I'm here to bring you exactly that. Today's installment of Website of the Day is not only endlessly entertaining but may even give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. It Made My Day is a site where people can submit great moments they come across during their otherwise boring days. For example, my favorite:

This morning, my seven-year-old son showed his excitement for going out to breakfast by doing the Robot

Now if that doesn't make you smile, your geeky heart must be made of stone. IMMD is filled with other awesome stories of the little things that make your day, whether it be witnessing karmic revenge on the person who stole your parking spot or uncovering hilarious mistakes on your righteous co-workers' reports, it's all there. Check it out, and enjoy a good win giggle.

Do you have an interesting website you want to share? Create a PopSugar Account or login to your existing account. Then join the Website of the Day group where you can post your favorite website. And you never know, it could be featured on GeekSugar! Here's a detailed guide to posting questions or posts to groups if you are new to the PopSugar Community.

In a world of expensive charging stations, it's a relief that a geek on a budget can head to Ikea to pick up a simple $3 charging dock that will do the job it was meant to preform: hold your gadgets while they're juicing up. Additionally, for all you cable-hiding freaks out there (yours truly, included) Ikea also offers simple and cheap solutions for any cable management nightmare. All of these products are $10 or less, so I know you can scrounge up the scrilla to get organized. Check them out here!

Do You Use Social Media to Contact Companies?

I just finished reading an article about a US couple who, because of visa problems, nearly missed their Russian honeymoon. They thought they'd done their research; online travel agency Expedia assured the couple that they didn't need visas to travel to St. Petersburg. It turned out, though, they did. After sharing their experience and anger in real time via Twitter and their blog, Expedia reached out to the couple, reimbursing the cost of their trip, the additional expenses they incurred, and offering a huge credit toward their next trip.

More companies are using social media to respond immediately to problems and interact closely with customers. In fact, some of Sugar staffers used the service to get in touch with JetBlue during a severely delayed flight.

While I agree it's a great way to interact with a company, I can't decide if this will increase their responses or just create a new forum for more people to complain. What do you think?

Should Posting an Inappropriate Comment Get You Fired?

Remember the state representative from Kentucky who wanted to ban anonymous Internet commenters? I wonder what he'd think about this story: A teacher in St. Louis was fired for a comment he left on a news story that ran on a newspaper website. The author of the article, titled "What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever eaten? And did you like it?" was not amused by the comment (which, to be fair, was pretty vulgar) and tracked down the commenter's IP address.

After realizing the comment came from a local school, he contacted them immediately, thinking it must have come from a student. Turns out it was posted by a teacher, and when confronted about it, he resigned. The reporter is pretty unapologetic, and judging by the 16 pages of comments on the follow-up article, people have strong opinions on the subject.

When I asked, most of you thought banning anonymous comments was a bad idea. What do you think about this case?
