This year, The History Channel has whipped up a pretty spectacular website called The History of Thanksgiving.
On the site, you'll find fun facts about this special day including 15 things you don't know about Thanksgiving, you'll learn how football became a part of this day, and find out the origins of Thanksgiving. The site also provides videos related to the holiday, a Thanksgiving calendar and resources list, where you can find things like recipes and info about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Apparently this is a real metric: Facebook recently announced it would begin to track our gross national happiness via status messages. The social networking company worked with a team of social psychologists to come up with lists of positive words ("yay," "happy," and "awesome," for example) and negative words ("sad," "doubt," "tragic.")
It then published an index of how we are collectively feeling day-to-day. Turns out we're happiest on national holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and social holidays like Halloween.

So you had a little too much turkey, gravy and stuffing on Thanksgiving (not to mention all the leftovers you indulged in), and you completely ignored Fit's assessments of how many calories your typical Thanksgiving Day meal contained, which means you've probably gained a few pounds. No biggie, just let your gadget obsession help whip you back into shape. Although it will take some determination, it won't be all that hard, I promise — you just gotta get moving, and cut back on the treats.
