Here's a word you're going to be hearing a lot of — Clicker! I know I often bombard you with the names of sites that stream TV shows and movies online, but now you can throw all of that knowledge out the window because a new streaming site called Clicker aggregates practically all of the shows across the web into one location.
According to TechCrunch, Clicker also pulls in Amazon Video on Demand and Netflix's Watch Instantly content (which you still have to pay for!).

Brits have totally lucked out this week because the BBC has just launched the "on-demand" iPlayer, which will enable viewers to choose from 400 hours of programs, including hit shows such as "EastEnders," "Doctor Who" and "Planet Earth."
According to The New York Times the player is free and takes about thirty minutes to download an hour-long show. Programs cannot be saved permanently and will be automatically deleted after viewing or after thirty days.

We're seeing Netflix appear on more and more devices lately (like the iPhone), but Amazon may be trying to take a piece of the streaming pie by launching its own streaming service. A report coming from the Wall Street Journal online says that Amazon is prepping to launch a subscription-based movie and TV service, which will be viewable on Internet-enabled TVs, the Xbox 360, and the company's own website, and could come bundled with an $80 Amazon Prime membership (something I'm already a big fan of).
Amazon already has an on-demand service, but this new addition could come as early as the holidays and stocked with content from NBC, Time Warner, and Viacom.

If you've got an Xbox 360 (and quite a few of you do), you know that it can do a lot more than just play games — an Xbox can be like your own personal media center.
If you are in fact an Xbox lover, it's likely that you've signed up for an Xbox Live account, which lets you download cool arcade games, demos, previews, access multiplayer games to play with friends online, stream Netflix movies and TV, and lots more. But for new and old subscribers alike, using your Xbox to its full potential is about to get a bit more expensive.

There's a new statistic floating around that says 84 percent of online video viewers watch the entire 30-second ad that typically comes before a video without clicking away. Impressive! I'd have to say I'm half and half — if I think the video clip is worth it, I'll stick around, otherwise I'll click away with a groan.

Hot on the heels of Netflix's recent movie announcement, Boxee has revealed that it will be adding movies to its online lineup. You can already stream online content to your TV through Boxee's set-top box, which acts as a hub for videos, music, web apps, and networked files from your computer. But starting today, Boxee will begin offering up a library of thousands of films from EZTakes, Indie Movies Online, MUBI and Openfilm (which have their own stock of free-to-watch films).

There's more support for a rumored launch of a revamped Apple TV service later this year. Now more people close to the deal say that Apple is in talks to offer 99 cent TV rentals of popular shows with Fox; CBS and Disney are also rumored to be dealing with Apple.
These reports come just as news surfaced that the number of new cable TV subscriptions is falling as customers presumably turn to the web to get their TV fixes.

The recent push for streaming TV has gone far beyond Hulu. Not only are Verizon and HBO offering up streaming options to their customers, but the Dish Network is quickly gaining traction in the satellite and cable arena. First came the Dish Networks' announcement that it would offer up live satellite TV to subscribers on mobile devices like the iPad, and now the company is taking on cable with their new service, DishOnline.com.

The list of reasons to love Hulu grows longer by the day — free TV shows online, Hulu Plus on my PS3 (just to name a few) — and now the only network that doesn't have a presence on Hulu may be making a move. In an interview conducted earlier this week, CBS Chief Executive Les Moonves said that the network is in talks with Hulu to create a subscription service that brings CBS shows online "without hurting the mother ship." Meaning, it's likely going to cost you a few bucks.
