With word that I'll soon be able to connect to my Slingbox via my iPhone, I feel like I'll have the world in the palm of my hand. I mean, first TiVo apps, then Netflix and now Slingbox? I'll be a one stop media shop.

After hearing a few months back that SlingPlayer Mobile was working with RIM to develop a BlackBerry, I have been anxiously awaiting a release date.
Sling Media has finally confirmed that they will be releasing SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry later this year. They have also announced that they will be unveiling their software running on a BlackBerry Pearl 8120 during CES next week.

I already knew that the Slingbox streaming device was beyond amazing, but after I caught my co-workers watching Oprah three hours before it airs on this side of the U.S, I instantly became hooked.
Now you can not only control your home TV with Slingmedia from your laptop, but you can do it with your cell phone as well. According to Engadget, the makers of SlingPlayer Mobile are working with RIM to develop a BlackBerry friendly version — so we can watch The Hills from anywhere at anytime via our phones.

PC users have known the joy that is Slingbox for some time now, but now eager Mac enthusiasts, including Miss Hilary Duff, can get their Slingbox fix served up to their computers on the daily. Slingbox, is a nifty device that can turn the internet-connected computer or mobile device into your home television. Meaning you can record your favorite shows and watch TV virtually anywhere.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house by the end of Michael Jackson's memorial service, and audiences across the world tuned in to watch from afar. At Sugar HQ groups spectated via Slingbox, gathered around the lobby television, streamed the memorial service online, and checked blogs for updates while we worked.

Recently, AOL's Switched had the pleasure of talking with Hilary Duff about gadgets, gaming, and her net surfing habits. Who knew that this actress-turned-popstar was such a techie diva? During the interview, Duff shares her obsession with BlackBerries, the infamous and yet-to-be-released iPhone and - this is the bit that totally surprised me - how she can't wait to get a Slingbox, the new TV streaming device that lets you watch all your fave TV shows on your laptop.

Tensions certainly grew in my house this week when we realized that someone forgot to set the DVR to record Heroes. Thankfully, I had a Dr. Phil lightbulb moment and remembered that my laptop is connected to a Slingbox, so we ended up watching it online—crisis diverted!
