Do You Want to See a Movie Based on the Sims?

I wasn't sure this idea was going to come to fruition, but it seems to be true: Not only is the movie based on the Sims video games a go, but a producer for the movie explained the concept for the film.

Apparently some kids get a "Sims Infinity Pack," and their actions in the Sim-world actually start happening. It could be somewhat interesting to see a thought that happens to most geeks play out on screen, but on the other hand, I might get confused watching the Sims and not being able to control anything. (What! They have conditioned me to control!) What do you think?

If you haven't noticed the ads for the new The Sims 2 H&M® Fashion Stuff across the Sugar Network recently I suggest you take a gander. The game allows you to dress up your Sims in H&M® clothing collections for men and women with The Sims 2 H&M® Fashion Stuff. Your Sims characters can choose from FabSugar-approved H&M® fashions, then play with retail-themed items like mannequins, clothing racks, cash registers and even walk the runway. It's a real makeover from the days of plain Jane Sims clothing and adds a fun, girlie touch to the game. I dare you to not get addicted.

The game requires The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Special DVD Edition, or The Sims 2 Holiday Edition to play.

YouTube user kaelovesu has been cooking up some hot new Sims videos. Ciara, Rihanna, Beyonce, you name it, this talented Sims expert has covered it. This video was one of my favorites because the virtual Rihanna actually looks like the real Rihanna- moves and all!

If you're a Sims fan and can appreciate the time and effort it takes to create one of these vids you should definitely watch it. For some more Sims amusement, check out the new Sims credit card!

New Lily Allen Video - "Smile" (Simlish Version)

Well what do you know, a day after my best friend convinces me we have to go to a Lily Allen concert when she comes to San Francisco, I find out she's way geekier than I thought. Joining the ranks of Teen pop queens Aly and AJ, Allen has recorded her hit song "Smile" in Simlish.

Aly & AJ Share How Chemicals React - In Simlish

Teen pop queens Aly and AJ, must have a geeky side. The sister duo, which is known for their "Chemicals React" song, recently teamed up with EA Games and released their hit in Simlish. While I'm a die-hard Sims fan, I don't know the girls very well, so I was a little shocked at first. Now I'm amazed, entertained and imagining how funny Madonna would sound in Simlish.

The song was recorded for The Sims 2: Pets, which launched in late 2006. It was also included on the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system version. If you're wondering what the girls are saying in English, just read more

If you're a Sims fan, you've probably done the family and white-picket fence thing a million times, but what about some fun-loving pets?

With The Sims 2: Pets all you have to do is have your Sim pick up the phone and dial the Pet Adoption Service, where they’ll have plenty of cats and dogs to choose from. You can also create your own unique cats and dogs through the Create a Family screen, where size, color, body type, markings, and personalities can be tweaked to your heart’s content. Choose from dozens of pedigreed breeds, and make your new fuzzy friend look like your real life dog.

Your Sim might find a stray cat or dog wandering around the house and develop a relationship with it, which will convince the animal to stay around for a while. Eventually, it will become a member of the household. This option is recommended for cheap Sims.

If you have the Open For Business expansion pack, you can buy cats and dogs at a downtown pet store. Pets also allows players with Open For Business to open their own pet shops.

Get the The Sims 2: Pets, from the Apple Store for $34.95. Works for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, but there's a PC Sims 2: Pets version too.

Ikea Furniture Hits Sims 2, I Look For Dave First

You should know by now that I am a chronic shopper - it's kind of a problem - but I'm a smart shopper, too. I love H&M for trendy but affordable clothes, and Ikea for home furniture and decor that doesn't totally empty my wallet. The Sims apparently feel the same way, too - not only can your Sims sport the cutest H&M outfits, now their houses can be pimped out in classic pieces by the Swedish retail master. With the Ikea Home Stuff Pack for Sims 2, available at the end of June, your virtual Sims home can get Dave-d, Malm-ed, and Benno-ed.

The best thing about this? You don't have to worry about sprouting new gray hairs trying to put this furniture together!

Have You Ever Snuck a Peek Into Your Boyfriend's Messages?

From the way this clip is titled and conducted, it sounds like they're pushing this SIM Card Spy device as a good thing, but I can't help but be anything but horrified. You insert anyone's SIM card from their cell phone into the SIM Spy, and every single text message - including deleted ones - shows up when you plug the SIM Spy's USB into your computer.

Even if you have nothing to hide, this product seems completely violating. Has anyone ever read your journal? It's an icky feeling. That said, I know there's verrry few people who have never been curious about what's in their significant other's texts, MySpace, or email. And I know many people who have logged in, signed on, and picked up their loved one's phone to see what, if anything, is goin' on. Have you?

Molly Sims Geeks Out With Her Decorated DS

I spy with my little eye, something shiny and sparkly! In this week's issue of Life & Style, Molly Sims was caught showing off her bling'd out white Nintendo DS (one of my favorite portable devices ever) at a recent event. We're giving away our own white DS, but lucky Molly has had hers covered with black and pink crystals in the shape of a sexy pump. How very Sex and the City, no?

Although L&S dubbed her a "Diva" for glamming up her gaming gadget, I think it's totally geek chic. But who would have thought otherwise coming from a fashion powerhouse like Molly Sims!? What do you think of her decorated DS?

Cool Capture: Mediya's Philippines Vacation

GeekSugar reader Mediya used her phone camera to document Philippines vacation, and posted photos in our Cool Capture group:

Rather than being caught without a camera on a vacation, I decided to take pictures with my My|Phone Dual-Sim Phone, taking advantage of my 2GB memory card storage. The resolution is a very low 96 dpi with image sizes of 352-x-288 pixels, but I sharpened my images using Paint.net, a free download. I must admit that I am a newbie at photography, but I enjoyed my vacation, and Puerto Princesa City in Palawan Islands is still one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines, if not the world.
