Mood Light Shower Radio: Love It or Leave It?

I can't really say I've added "singing in the shower" to my morning routine, although I'm always captivated by waterproof shower accessories like this. The Mood Light Shower Radio by Wrapables is water-resistant, comes with an AM/FM radio, a speaker and an antenna for easy hanging. Available in blue, orange, and green and costs $18. I'm still trying figure out where mood and light is incorporated into this radio? Maybe it changes colors like those old school mood rings? You might not be able to sing in the rain with this concept design by Hae Lim, but you can sing in the shower! The mp3 player is specifically designed for wear and tear in water as it conveniently docks on your shower head to play music. Just detach it from the head/speaker to change songs with the control buttons and in no time you'll be rocking out to your favorite band and lathering up as well! Slightly more natural than waterproof MP3/speaker combos is this music system that was made to look like a shower knob. It doesn't tout MP3 or CD abilities (it's only an AM/FM radio), but its discreet shape and $25 price will likely attract some geek on a quest to trick out his or her powder room. It’s being sold by Korea’s Funshop for about $32 bucks.

Shower With Colored Lights Shatters My Bathtub Dreams

My BFF and I were having dinner Monday night and our topic turned to the fact that she is going to have to move out of her beautiful apartment soon and is worried she will never find a place with such ample closets and a cool claw-foot tub - both strict requirements for San Francisco dwelling.

I thought I was just as hung up on the idea of always having a Victorian bathtub as she is until I saw this amazing shower created by Signorini Design, which uses slim metallic blocks and attached lights to rain down the water in color.

The water is lit with red, yellow, green and blue lights for a dramatic - albeit geeky effect. "I'm just glad they finally made a shower that's as classy as I am," says Geekologie. "Now I can finally shower in my tuxedo and monocle and not have to worry about feeling out of place." Touché. Touché.

The LED Shower Light: Party Shower!

While I love the LED Faucet Light for the sink, I'm not so hot on the version for the Shower. Although I love the concept - the color of the water turns red for hot and blue for cold, as with the Faucet Light, I just can't imagine standing underneath a fountain of red light as I take my shower. In the early morning light, I need to be bathed in white and cleanliness, not red, red rain. It's very shades of Psycho, you know?

Still, I really appreciate the idea. Maybe other people aren't as big of freaks as I am.

Emoticon Shower Curtain: Love It or Leave It?

Had I found this a week ago, this Text Talk Shower Curtain so would have been leading the geeky bathroom guide.

$15 from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, the shower curtain's little faces express happiness, distress, silliness . . .the same way you do over text and IM. My feelings about the curtain skew toward how I feel about emoticons in general: avoid unless necessary.

However, this could be the perfect bath time accessory for the texting addict. What do you think?

Since the wedding shower is not quite the big, formal event a wedding is, I think email invitations are perfectly acceptable (not to mention eco and ultra-convenient). My favorite, of course, is eVite. They have a few pages of wedding-themed invitations that would be great for a shower, and you can always design your own.
Whatever theme or color scheme you're going for, Pearl River Mart and Plum Party are my favorite online party retailers - they have a ton of awesome party favors and decorations, and supply products in bulk.
Don't let anyone get lost! If you're using eVite, Google Maps is already integrated, but if not, you can email the Map or get the embed code for the map and embed it in your invitation.
After the party, remind people how much fun they had and upload your photos to a free photo site like Picasa, where a free account gets you 1GB of storage.

And don't forget to write your toast! This is the one thing that shouldn't come from Google.

Emoticon Pillows: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with emoticons. On one hand, I have a soft spot for geeky emoticon products like this shower curtain and these emoticon magnets. On the other, I frown on the overuse of emoticons, especially when it comes to dating.

You can probably guess how I feel about these Emoticon Throw Pillows ($12). There are five designs pictured, but you can also request your own favorite emoticon design. What do you think?

I know I've mentioned my avoid-unless-necessary feelings on emoticons several times, not to mention calling a guy out over his emoticon use (to which most of you responded my friend should chill out).

You loved this emoticon shower curtain; do you feel the same way about these emoticon magnets ($15)? They're 2.5 inches in diameter, so they'll definitely make a statement on the fridge. What do you think?
