Aug 29 2007 - 6:00am Despite studies that say consumers
aren't swayed by celebrity endorsements, celebrity-driven gadget ad campaigns are at an all time high.
Whether celebrity gadget sightings are unintentional (take for instance
Alicia Keys playing with her Samsung Camcorder at a Knicks game, or
Lauren Conrad taking her BlackBerry with her everywhere), others are very intentional and well paid for. The reemergence of HP's
The Computer is Personal Again staring Serena Williams got me thinking about the top celebrity gadget endorsements of the last couple of years and why companies continue to use famous names and faces to rep their products.

I wonder how many of them actually know how to use the products they endorse?
1i don't think it counts to use 4 celebs for 1 product.
2I love the HP ads and the Shakira one.
3am i the only one w ho doesn't like the HP "the computer is personal again" campaign? i never knew who they were talking about at the beginning, as they don't show the person's head. and so a celeb uses it for their work...makes it seem like it's not geared for us regular folks.
4I just buy what I like...If I see something on a celeb (that wont take my child's college fund to pay for...I buy it...or a knock off that looks like it...But mostly I shop around.
5i highly doubt they used the functions they are promoting. their asst are prollie lol
6i love all the HP ads, and the mac ones are cool too.
7The mac ads will always be my favorite gadget ads.
8whats the ad w/ the commercial where people change faces and locs w/ the pics
9That wasn't Shakira's music.
10Seems to me your making out celebrities to be the 'evil' ones when it's the marketing strategies of the item producers.
Oh and shakira also promoted ViceRoy & Pepsi. Wanna bring that into it?.
