Sex and the City Blu-ray Discs Come With Digital Copies!

I preordered Sex and the City on Blu-ray, and when it came yesterday, I was greeted with a pleasant geeky surprise: A digital copy was included! Digital copies have been included on a few DVDs and Blu-ray discs since the beginning of the year, but this is the first time I've gotten one - and with a movie that truly makes it worth it!

The disc is separate from the Blu-ray disc itself and when inserted, opens iTunes, where you enter the unique code that comes with your disc. Now I can put Carrie and the posse on my iPhone (and not even bat an eye when those broads take up 1.6 gigs!)

Have you gotten any digital copies with movies you're buying yet? Do you use them?

Kristin Talks Sex And Shopping

As Sex And The City fever sweeps the nation, Kristin Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker are the two cover stars on the new Marie Claire magazine. The majority of you loved the movie, and a bunch of you are seeing it this weekend – so here's some excerpts from Kristin's interview where she discusses plot rumours, adulthood, her battle with alcoholism and, of course, sex and shopping:

On sex and shopping: “I’m not really a shopper so that’s the easy one. I have to say definitely good sex. What makes good sex? Oh my god. I think you need to feel free and to feel free you have to really trust the other person. Erm, and you have to have that strange, mysterious chemical connection.”
On not really feeling like an adult: “I guess, at some point I felt like I would feel like an adult. Certainly it’s very different to be 43 as opposed to when I was young and 43 seemed really, really old.”
On facing her own mortality: “This is going to sound strange but I really didn’t think I would pass 30. I don’t know why or whatever, I just didn’t. It’s a very weird thing to say, I’m sorry. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I was drinking so much as a youth. You know, I drank a lot when I was teenager and I don’t drink anymore because that’s when I thought, you know, I’m gonna end up a car wreck. I just had a fatalistic viewpoint of the whole situation at that point.”

On being a former alcoholic: “Alcoholism is a genetically predisposed disease and it does run in my family. I also think I felt like a misfit. I was in the South, everybody was blonde. (An only child, Kristin's parents divorced when she was a baby. Adopted by her stepfather, a psychology professor, the family moved Columbia, South Carolina where he worked at the university.) I just didn’t feel like I fitted in. It was sort of my way of fitting. I mean, I don’t know how much you know about the American South but there’s a history of bourbon! People in the South get upset with me when I talk about this. It’s obviously different now but when I was a teenager everything was based on a very kind of elaborate social scene in the South. There were social clubs and high school fraternities and college. You know, I’m kind of shy normally, so I felt like I needed help and then one thing led to another and I was drinking.”
Was it a rebellious thing? “Not so much because I was still a straight A student. I was pretty good at hiding it so my parents didn’t really know. Of course it came out and they were like, ‘Oh no, what has happened?’ What made me stop? (She was 22 years old when she became teetotal.) I realised it was not going to end well. I got into the acting programme, it was a very challenging, I was hungover and I wasn’t doing so well in my classes. I thought, ‘Do you know what? It’s going to be one or the other. I can’t really have both.”
On the SATC movie rumours: “Can I just say, my character doesn’t die. [laughs]. That’s really funny. Oh yeah, we did the Sex And The City movie so we could kill Charlotte. Oh yeah, that’s hysterical. No. Definitely no.”

This Just In: Mr. Big Makes a Commitment

According to Real Estalker, Chris Noth, a.k.a. Sex and the City's Mr. Big, and his longtime girlfriend, actress Tara Wilson (and mother of their son Orion Christopher Noth), purchased an 1,854-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath Joseph Eichler-esque modernist home in Sherman Oaks, CA for $1.445 million in August 2007. I'm sure the anticipation of his paycheck from the Sex and the City movie made it easy for Noth to fork over a big million or so for the house, and a three bedroom is also the perfect size for his family of three. I personally love the place, and am eager to see what direction he takes the décor. I hope he doesn't go for a midcentury antigarden . Until then, I'll just have to drool over Noth when I see him on screen at our SATC movie screening party tonight, and I can also look forward to his pairing in a romcom with Renee Zellweger.

It's the day we've all been waiting for – across the UK Sex And The City is released in our cinemas! Have you got your tickets booked? Meanwhile, following their big world premiere in the UK, the cast finally went home to New York for the American premiere of the film. Mr Big, Steve, Smith and others were in attendance this time round so take a look our gallery filled with familiar faces from the TV show!

Our girls wore mostly metallic dresses with the exception of Cynthia Nixon who looked beautiful in white. SJP's Nina Ricci dress looked absolutely gorgeous on her adorable petite frame, and has me buzzing even more for the fashion in the film – goddess of fashion Anna Wintour attended the premiere, which I think tells us everything!

Sarah Jessica Parker Promotes Perfume in Paris

While the majority of movie stars are in the South of France at Cannes, Sarah Jessica Parker (and a gorgeous pair of red shoes) was a bit further north in Paris, launching her perfume Covet in the Champs-Elysees Sephora Shop yesterday. She pleased the crowd at the shop by saying: "Hello Paris, hello Paris, I love you, thank you very very much, I'm delighted" and added: "If I walk out without wearing fragrance, it's my version of being completely nude... Parker Parades On The Pink Carpet

Those gorgeous Sex and the City ladies were in Berlin yesterday dressed in their finery on the hot pink carpet. Sarah Jessica Parker went for a more understated look in comparison to the London / World premiere and I think she looks beautiful in that nude dress. I wonder what outfits they'll pull out for the big New York premiere – I can't wait to see!

Kim, Sarah, Cynthia and Kristin star on the cover of US mag Entertainment Weekly (among others) at the moment, here are some highlights from the interview:

SJP: "Almost every scene we shot, especially when there were a lot of extras around, I'd say, 'This is one crazy dream sequence!'" KD "We were like, 'Hmm, okay, we'll go with that.' But then after a while, you feel guilty."
SJP: "There's a lot at stake for me personally, I want it to do well, but the bigger story for me here is that I want the people who hold the purse strings to believe that there are female audiences, that it's worth their money."
CN:"On my first day, we all had to walk down the street together, and there were hundreds of people on Park Avenue, watching us. It was daunting." SJP: It took two to three times as long [as we expected] to shoot. It's flattering that anybody still cares about these characters. But it's like an amoeba - ever-growing and out of control."

She was out and about yesterday in a beautiful floral dress and lime green shoes, keeping the floral / green theme going from Monday's exciting premiere! She's been busy doing various promotional activities for the movie of the Spring, one of which is an appearance on Jonathan Ross's show, airing on Friday night, so keep your eyes peeled. London Hosts The Sex And The City World Premiere!

The ladies are back – and I'm so overexcited about it! Sarah Jessica Parker (and her hat/fascinator), Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis looked absolutely gorgeous in Leicester Square last night for the Sex And The City movie's UK and world premiere. Director Michael Patrick King, film stylist Patricia Field and Mario Cantone aka Anthony also showed up to give their film support in London, walking the red carpet in front of hundreds of screaming fans, some of whom had been waiting for nine hours – now that's dedication to Carrie and co!

A whole host of excited guests also put on their best heels to walk the red carpet, including Davina McCall, Kelly Rowland, Vivienne Westwood, Daisy Lowe, Jaime Winstone, Michelle Ryan, Sugababes. Don't forget to vote in Fab UK's Love It Or Hate It polls from the premiere! Kim Cattrall was happy to be premiering the movie in London, saying,

"I love New York, I live there but I'm having the most amazing love affair with the UK."

The movie opens in the UK on 28th May. Check back after 10am today to enter our SATC-related competition!
