OK, so how many times have you bragged to a group of friends that you beat your all-time high score on Guitar Hero after a monster jam session, only to be blasted for not learning to play a "real" instrument? Last Sunday during the Primetime Emmy Awards, red carpet host Chris Harrison jokingly asked Flight of the Conchords duo Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement if they had any plans for a Flight of the Conchords debut on Rock Band.
A serious-sounding Bret leaned forward into the microphone and said, "We have three songs on the next Rock Band." A lot of people think he's joking, but I detected a note of seriousness.

As if there wasn't already amazing upcoming Rock Band news, there's more: the next big breakthrough coming soon is the Rock Band Network, which will allow you to convert any recorded song to be used in Rock Band play.
Being able to convert songs won't be free — it'll cost about $160 and be a very technical process, Harmonix warns. The network will be available for Xbox 360 users, and then later to PS3 users, and it's geared toward songwriters who can also code.
