Since we're shifting into holiday shopping overdrive, sales, saving money, and spending seem to top our conversations virtually every day. So I must insist that you add the Retail Me Not extension to your Firefox browser.

It's going to help you do all three: save by alerting you when there is a sale or discount available, and help you spend less than you would if just browsing online stores till all hours of the night looking for a deal. It's free to add-on, but will be worth its weight in gold once you tally up your receipts at the end of the month and see how much you've saved.

And don't forget if you're looking for a bargain, you can always check out ShopStyle's Sale Habit, where you'll find tons of deals from all across the Internet!

Geek Tip: RetailMeNot Adds Firefox Extension

If you ever used RetailMeNot to find coupon codes for stores like Victoria's Secret, JCrew and American Eagle, there's now a RetailMeNot Firefox extension that makes online shopping that much more exciting. Discussed on lifehacker, this free extension will automatically check for coupons and provide you with a notification if a coupon is found for the site you are visiting. How great is that?!

Website of the Day: Retail Me Not

You know when you're shopping online and you see a box on the checkout page that tells you to enter a discount code, coupon number or promotional code? You can actually obtain those money saving codes and digits from Retail Me Not, a website that lists online coupon codes for stores like J Crew, Amazon, Victoria Secret, Starbucks and Avis. The website gets all of its discount codes from user-submissions, so there's no guarantee that each code will work 100 percent, but it's definitely worth a try. Just enter at the checkout page and give them a whirl, you never know what goodies you'll get at a fraction of the regular cost!

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group
Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
Choose "Blog"
Give your photo a Title
Leave the category as "general"
Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
Click Submit

So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all of your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

Ikea's Back to School Laptop Solutions

OK, I'll admit it, for someone who isn't even going back to school, I may be getting a little too obsessed with covering back to school products. But overall, I think it's safe to say I have a laptop obsession in general. . . one can never have enough laptop accessories in my book! My favorite Swedish furniture retailer has spoiled me with two new things this week: a SwedeShop iPhone app and a Dave laptop stand. . . in red! Website of the Day: Grechen's Codes

Good economy or bad economy, everyone loves getting a discount, and I can safely say that every purchase I have made in the last few months online has not been without a coupon code.

I usually use Retail Me Not, but I discovered a new coupon site that focuses on women's clothing and accessories, and I'm a little unhealthily obsessed with it: Grechen's Codes.

Who's Grechen? I don't know, but she's some sort of guardian angel. The site makes it really easy to find codes for the sites I'm looking at, and I've even (dangerously) signed up for their emails, so that even if I'm not shopping, I'm alerted to good deals going on.

TopShop Floral Laptop Bag: Love It or Leave It?

We finally have TopShop stateside, and even though I haven't gotten to hit up an actual store yet, I tend to love everything I see online from them. Imagine how stoked I was then, to find that they have a laptop case - the Posey Laptop Bag ($70)!

You know I've been on the prowl for edgy-chic laptop bags, and the UK-based retailer has delivered . . . or has it?

I can't decide if the floral print is too mumsy, or if the black background provides just the right contrast for the sweet print.

Let's ask the really important question here: would Kate Moss wear it? In the meantime, tell me what you think of it!

I'm a super saver. Not only do I check out Retail Me Not before any big purchase, but I also have my eyes peeled for new coupon websites. Ebates, anyone? So naturally, I was stoked to find FatWallet, which can be added to your list of money-saving meccas online.

FatWallet can save you money not only by giving you access to thousands of coupons and codes, but it also has a cash-back program. Shop at a participating retailer (which shouldn't be hard since Bloomingdale's, Blue Nile, and eBay are on the list), and get a percentage of your purchase back every time you shop. Can't go wrong there, folks.

Tech-savvy fashionistas have known for a while that the destination to search for new clothes and home accessories is ShopStyle. Well now the incredible search functions and tools have gone mobile - say hello to the new (totally free) ShopStyle Mobile app!

You can hunt and browse from your iPhone on the go - making it your best comparison shopping tool.

Out trying on jeans and have a hunch they're cheaper at another store or online? One place out of a size in a shoe you like? Just look it up on ShopStyle.

I've checked out the app and put it to my shopping and iPhone app test, so to see what I found, just read more.

My favorite thing about the app is what happens post search. Tap to flip the image and see all the details of the item, including the retailer and price. Once you've found the product you're looking for, it's one easy click to email it to a friend or yourself.

From a tech perspective, the greatest thing is that once you've located an item and want to buy it from your iPhone - instead of shooting you off to Safari and removing you from the app - the app actually frames your browser, so you're still in the ShopStyle app.

A little birdie told me that a favorites feature is coming in the next update, and after that, you'll also be able to sync your favorites with your ShopStyle profile, so you won't have to email items to yourself to remember them.
