Kodak's Zi8 Camcorder: Not to Be Confused With the Flip

After the success of the Zi6 pocket recorder, Kodak has decided to improve their line-up of camcorders by introducing the Zi8, which can easily be compared to Pure Digital's latest - the Flip Ultra HD. Available in red, black, and blue for only $180, the Zi8 offers 1080p recording, a 2.5-inch LCD display, a SD card slot, Facebook functionality, and can capture 5-megapixel stills. Kodak even announced that it'll be able to capture video in low-lighting conditions, something the Flip hasn't been able to do. I'd have to get my hands on one to see if it's better than the Flip in terms of usability and quality, but I'm definitely liking what I'm hearing!

BlackBerry Tour Comes to Both Verizon and Sprint Networks

The BlackBerry Tour (9630) - not to be confused with the Onyx which celebs are toting around - made a very silent launch on two major US carriers today. Unlike the Pre, which is exclusive to Sprint, the BlackBerry Tour has been announced on both Verizon and Sprint networks. The Tour will be coming to Sprint by the end of the Summer and will cost $199.99 on a two-year contract (after a $50 rebate and a $100 mail-in rebate . . . what's with the rebates?!). Verizon details haven't been released just yet. Wondering what's so hot about this smartphone? Well it comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera with a flash and zoom (wish I could say the same for the iPhone), video recording, and an expandable memory slot that will support 32GB cards.

Personal Trainer: Walking Hits Stores May 26

Nintendo is really trying to get us in shape for Summer! Set to make its official debut on May 26 here in the US, Personal Trainer: Walking works by sending data between a wireless activity pedometer (which you can place anywhere - even inside a bag!) and the infrared game card in your Nintendo DS or DSi to track your walking progress.

Your DS will record your daily step count, minute by minute, so you can always go back and see your activity level. And because the card can store up to five years of records, you'll see if you're improving from year to year!

DSi Coming With (Slightly) Lower Price, Plenty of Awesome

The good news about the US launch of the Nintendo DSi is that it's going to cost you $10 less than previously thought, at $170. The bad news is, you're still going to have to wait till April 5 to get your hands on one! Although I'm in love with my DS, I'm saving up as we speak for Nintendo's newest handheld device.

I'm excited not only because of its two - count 'em, two - cameras (one on the outside, and one facing the user) that you can use to manipulate photos (kinda like Apple's Photobooth), but also because of its voice recorder and music player that allow you to record and play your own music from an SD card. Oh, and its wireless capabilities, giving you access to games on-the-go from the DSiWare store. It's obviously the best DS ever. Are you anxiously awaiting the DSi's arrival like me?

Kwiry Adds More Features, Including a TiVo Texting Shortcut

OK, if you have not jumped on the Kwiry train yet, you must! I've already told you how you can send a text to (K-W-I-R-Y) 59479 to remember books, movies, or to-do items and how you can even add products to your Amazon wishlist and update your Netflix queue, well there's more. Kwiry just announced that you can now send a text saying "tivo Gossip Girl" and it will schedule a recording of the next episode to your TiVo.

Additionally, you can text Kwiry for things like Yelp information, including reviews, contact info, etc. And if you really want to go bananas with Kwiry, you can text "contact geekyjill@gmail.com" to email contact info and vCard attachment while on the go, or text "status going to Cindys" and kwiry will update your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts - no word of a lie people. And you thought Google's 411 service was impressive.

It's Not Too Late To Send A Holiday E-Card

It may be too late to send one of those beautiful, handmade holiday cards that smells like grandma's cookies and looks like something Martha Stewart cooked up, but it's not too late to send a cute holiday e-card. In general, e-card sites are tremendously easy to navigate, just preview the card designs, pick one, add a personal message and e-mail addresses you'd like it delivered to and click send. So much easier than searching all over for paper perfume, isn't it?
