One of my son's classmates is a dress-lover. For the past four months she has refused to put on a pair of pants, preferring to wear tights and dresses to all manners of events. This was great at the beginning of the school year, but Northeast Winters aren't always conducive to her fashionable choices. After a few too many mornings fighting about single digit temperatures for the half a mile walk to school, the girl's mother threw up her hands.

Baby, it's cold outside, so I've been doing everything I can to stay fashionably warm. By pure accidental luck - I tagged these onto my order because I wanted to get free shipping - I came across these Plush Fleece-lined Leggings ($35). On the outside, they look like a regular pair of black leggings, but the inside is a completely different story. The soft fleece lining is super soft and keeps my legs insulated from the chill. Hands down, the best Winter leggings. I wish they came in different colors . . .

I don't know why I've been on such an art and crafts binge lately, but c'mon, how can I not be when I see such adorable geek gear like the hand-painted Bluetooth earpieces and the Super Mario Galaxy keychain and bracelet! Here's another one to add to the geekilicious handmade collection list - Gameboy Plushies! Although these fuzzy creations are hand stitched with felt, I'm not really getting the $45 price tag. But they do measure just under a foot, which may make for one cozy little pillow.

My living room needed an overhaul, so recently we scraped together what we could to purchase two new sofas. They're my dream pieces, but their spare mid-century design screamed for a little adornment, and our investment left little in the way of a budget for throw pillows. Just when we thought we couldn't swoon any more over Joseph Altuzarra's creations, the designer sent us on a dizzying trip around the world via brightly hued Moroccan-chic knitwear, chunky fringe, plush shearling, and quirky coin embellishments. From 1940s Parisian silhouettes to ultra-tailored naval coats and equestrian-inspired jodhpurs, to the whimsical markings of a visit to a Marrakesh marketplace, this collection was all about mixing it up. The result? A sultry blend of super-structured jackets, pants, and fur-lined outerwear paired perfectly with eclectic fringe-laden skirts, Indian-braid schoolboy sweaters, and coin-infused cocktail dresses. Slick, tasseled, patent-leather ankle boots and knee-high riding boots completed each look - a fitting accessorized finish for the well-traveled style setter who knows where she's going next.

Trends: Global traveler, fringe, coin embellishments, equestrian-inspired silhouettes, fur-trimmed collars, quirky updates on the Fair Isle print.

Inspired by the rock 'n' roll glamour of 1960s London - think Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull - the collection boasted all the trademark elements of that oh-so-cool era. Knit minidresses, sequined gowns with updated twists, tailored menswear-inspired suits in jewel-toned velvets and tweeds, and an arsenal of must-have shaggy faux fur coats set the retro tone without ever seeming outdated. To top off these sweet rocker looks, the models also showed off something entirely new to the Zoe brand: chunky art-deco jewelry and cozy-chic Winter accessories. Translation? She's given us even more reason to accent our cold-weather attire with luxe snoods, statement collar necklaces, and bold fur cossacks. Drawing from the spirit of Françoise Hardy, Yigal sent sophisticated, ladylike looks with an exotic twist down the runway. To put it simply, it was a luxurious mélange of plush raccoon-fur cossacks, long cashmere coats with leather-trimmed pockets, pebble-printed silk jumpsuits, snakeskin gloves, and one jaw-dropping laser-cut crepe leather gown. Add to the mix lambskin pants and structured leather jackets in a covetable palette of autumnal henna, bordeaux, and evergreen hues, and you've got a cold-weather wardrobe worth lusting after. As Yigal put it, this collection is all about "the unintentional beauty in mystery."
